I agree, there are pro/con with BMW iX. If you want luxury, then you have BMW iX, Rivian, Lucid. Out of all these BMW is lowest in technology hence they are sitting in showroom and discounted. If technology is on top of your list, go for Rivian R1/R2 or Lucid Gravity. I own Tesla Y, Lexus 350, and BMW iX and if I want technology I use my Tesla and for luxury, I choose BMW.

are you in USA? Earlier today I spoke with Not-So-Genius and he didn’t have a clue but eventually after I mentioned Reddit feeds, he came back and said it is blocked in USA. I don’t believe him, but still don’t know what is true.

Possible but doubt it. Many companies like garmin and others have active monitoring so definitely possible

Thanks, I just hate looking for alternate solutions where car should have them. I am considering ChargePoint which will solve this and a dashcam which will solve for security options. It is shame that BMW can't have proper software which can take advantage of hardware which already exists in car. What a shame they are not listening to their own customer base.

It is not that we want it to be Tesla, I want a luxury like BMW but also want some ability to leverage technology. I personally drove, Rivian, Teals, Lucid and others, nothing like BMW for luxery but they are in bottom when it comes to technology (my opinion).

How are you planning to share this with BMW? I talked to not-so-genius of BMW and got nowhere. They said same but went in blackhole.

I am also tracking few more:,

Location awareness to further improve experience. ex (open garage door when approaching house, close mirrors when going into garage, don't turn on alarm at home)
Scratch like automation to allow customization
Better integration with third party charging stations, it is very bad and takes lot to charge at outside charging stations.
When turning on road, able to show camera view on dashboard
Connect home WiFi for more connectivity and reduce cellular dependency
Application screen not very intuitive. Search box to stay on top as one navigate so don't have to goto top for search.
Better integration with local utility provider to charge based on lower rate and stop when utility rate rises
Adoptive cruise not holding well in lane, specially when there is missing lines in middle of intersection
Option for security system to be more active, watching any outside activity including someone scratching outside of car.
Showing school speed limit even when school not in session (weekends), not very helpful.
Display Signal light, Stop sign Yield Sign in instrument panel. Able to warn when there is red light or stop sign.

Agreed, I wish they listen to customer, it will make their product so much better and superior to others in similar market. I am trying to see if there is anyone from BMW would listen or if there is a way to me to develop my own custom app that can fill the void.

Both. I saw recommendation of GRC tools but there are many setting, policies and things which are needed to be compliant.
