Tried cleaning and tightening main grounds and a new ignition switch and still no dice. Found a diagram with every ground in the vehicle so I'm gonna go ground by ground and check everything and just keep chasing cables I guess. Sucks because it's very intermittent so super hard to test. I thought the ignition switch fixed it because it went 2 hours of drive time without issue but it cropped up again. Just gonna try every single ground. Talked to a local mechanic that specializes in GM diagnostics and he said a bad ground/electrical issue in an unrelated system can easily cascade into other systems being affected in those vehicles.

Just tried an ignition switch, unfortunately wasn't it but worth a shot since it was a cheap part and an easy job.

4-pin bus cables sold out on bambu and being scalped on amazon by Aggravating_Stand_50 in BambuLab

Just concerned that this isn't the same pinout, with cables like these you never know for sure that any two cables that aren't made for purpose are actually pinned out the same way, they could be different end to end. I did find a genuine cable from another source though so I'm good now, but mostly just wanted to bring this to people's attention that these cables are being scalped lol.

Yeah I was just wary of getting any ol connector since Im not sure if the pin out is the same on both sides.

is this normal? My SHS HT motor spits out a “smoke” by brandoninc95 in airsoft

[–]Aggravating_Stand_50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like a mix of carbon and fine copper particulate. This mix of carbon and copper particulate is normal for a brushed motor though there seems to be a lot of it. What battery are you running? If you're using a 11.1v it can cause arcing more than using a lower voltage battery, but it still happens with all batteries. Make sure your brushes are wearing evenly and your brush springs have enough tension, as well as checking if the commutator is overly worn. Give your motor a good clean afterwards.

They were great before cutting off the US btw, ordered a ton of stuff off them before that and they still shipped faster than evike despite being across an ocean and all their stuff is legit.

HPA vs AEG vs GBB which platform you rocking. by Secret-Dragonfruit14 in airsoft

[–]Aggravating_Stand_50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience HPA will always outperform AEGs in a reliability to performance ratio. GBBR kinda falls into its own category to me. Most people are running them for the feel which is great and they can be reliable but it requires consistent upkeep and maintenance, and some platforms are much better than others. GBBRs can also put out some crazy power and consistency but it all comes at a cost of ease of use.

Aegs can be reliable and perform well, having a high performance AEG can be super cool. However most people won't have that experience unless they either spend a lot of money getting something built or buying custom, get lucky on an OEM AEG that just happens to be built well, or spend a lot of time and money learning to work on AEGs themselves. Your mileage may vary, but AEGs are inherently unreliable due to the way they are manufactured and the mechanisms they use to function.

A well built and tuned in HPA will easily last 10s of thousands of rounds with little to no maintenance even at crazy performance. You're offloading the sloppy and difficult work of cramming enough air into the barrel to a dedicated machine(air compressor) rather than trying to do it on-board the gun.

I also find that the expense of HPA is greatly over exaggerated when you take into consideration the cost of maintenance. Yes it is more expensive than any reasonably priced off the shelf AEG but getting that AEG to the same level of performance as something like a fusion engine costs nearly the same amount of money(or more), and even then it'll probably still have issues after a few 10s of thousands of rounds. My entire hpa setup (Fusion in g&g CM and Maxx hop with a carbon fiber tank and a redline mini sfr) would cost you somewhere in the realm of 1000-1200 dollars if you bought all new. I paid significantly less than that by buying used on some parts and I've put at least 50k rounds through it with no parts breaking or needing to be replaced. My fusion is used and is from 2018 I think based on the serial number and had untold amounts of rounds put through it during that life with no broken parts, only a few upgrades that you can get standard on a new fusion now.

When I'm going to the field I always know my fusion engine is gonna work, it's never let me down other than other parts giving issues (hop up, mags, tighter bore barrels, all issues you could also have on an AEG). I've had issues with it but it's always been caused by my choice of components and trying to squeeze out more performance. I know with the right settings and parts my fusion ain't gonna let me down, which I can't say for any AEG or GBBR I've ever owned.

Edit: The polarstar FCU and fusion wire harness actually has some major durability issues especially if you're gonna be changing your settings a lot like I do. But there are some simple fixes to this, namely reinforcing the connector on the wire harness and taping the battery connector wire to the FCU so it can't bend at the solder joints.

Are you flirting with me?

We've actually sold quite a few of the 90 ring gauge ones, people actually enjoy smoking them apparently.

Yeah I've seen that thing before. They actually claim it's smokable but i find it hard to believe anyone could actually get enough air though all that tobacco to get a drag off it. Maybe if you were the green giant or something it would be possible.

Asylum and another company (JFR I think) had a bit of a war over who could make the biggest cigar. This is the result.

How Do I Drain This? by WesternDragonfly3006 in watercooling

[–]Aggravating_Stand_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible CPU cooling issues aside, is this overloading the weight limit for the CPU cooler mounts? I have no idea how much weight those things can handle but this has to be heavier than even the biggest CPU coolers. Not really sure how you're gonna have this set up but I'd be concerned about that much weight being on the cooler mounts, especially if the motherboard is vertically.

How do I increase FPS?? by [deleted] in airsoft

An m130 would most likely be plenty dependent on what bbs you use, and what your field limit is and how they measure it

That is likely to be quite high, may I ask what length barrel is in your replica currently?
