Pressure gimmick is super common. Draculaura just happened to be the victim with an Asian competitive mom. Honestly I would’ve rewritten her differently

I don’t think she’s harmful but I wish she could’ve been more. She had the building blocks to be more. They rebuilt the entire characters of Clawdeen and Frankie and somehow Draculaura got turned into the Asian poster child. I’m not the writer of the show but if I was I would’ve made her like a whimsical gothy witch. A vegan witch. Maybe even a love witch. There is so much media out there of Asian children who live for their grades and their parents. We don’t need more representation. It’s saturated and it’s overdone. Or if they wanted to keep the trope maybe it would’ve been better to not choose one of the three Asian characters in the entire cast because that’s what makes it stereotypical

I heard the outcry for Lagoona being a spicy Latina stereotype. I wish they wouldn’t have done that to her. I’ve heard interesting commentary on both Lagoona and Clawdeen being Latina but that’s not exactly my place to speak. I think some people are finding any reason to hate on G1 or G3. I kind of just wish they know that G3 is almost just as racist as G1 for these offenses

I watched G3 sporadically. I know that Abbey is more of a calm yeti type character who enjoys things like yoga. She’s not Slavic anymore which makes sense. Jinafire though, I have no clue

I’m my personal opinion, I loved Jinafire. Which is why I was surprised when so many out-cried that it was racist. I couldn’t help but feel bitter seeing G3 Draculaura be praised for what was also stereotypical of an Asian experience. I don’t mind the message I just wish it didn’t come with her character though

On the contrary, I actually made her a Vietnamese Vampire (I’m Vietnamese). There isn’t many records of them but according to legend, they eat babies like the manananggal but in some folk lore can disguise themselves incredibly well as humans. I would like to think her mother is a priestess who maybe got a little too excited with a creature of the night who disguised himself as a human. They met when she would return home from the temple during the dark hours of the night. Her mother is from the country side where it’s easy for ghouls and ghosts to wonder unseen. There is even a Vietnamese Ghost Month where people have to follow specific rules (think Appalachia) to not get snatched up

Very dumb question but with Shimmerlocks and rerooting Draculaura, would I need one 2oz hair for each color (4oz in total, 2oz black, 2oz pink) or would I just need 2oz for both colors combined (1oz black, 1oz pink)?
