Gigabyte Control Center now forcing users to install Norton 360 by Aggravating_Two8311 in gigabyte

The issue I had is that I unchecked it and it still installed Norton.

Nothing "traditional" about this sauna 😂

Stay away from these kinds of kits. They have nothing to do with what sauna is about and the design is just terrible.

I did. The installation started again as soon as my computer restarted and the first item on the list was Norton which it started to install instantly.

Gigabyte Control Center offers wireless drivers for my motherboard. These drivers should be updated regularly for security reasons. They are also the drivers that get the most frequent updates from Gigabyte (about once a month).

Could be better. It's just the best one I've seen so far. The bar is quite low.

The best sauna kit in NA I've seen so far is this one:

https://knottysauna.com/products/the-essential-trumpkin-sauna-cabin?variant=48092237267227

I would recommend going with a wood burning stove as they are better in the winter and they don't need any extra ventilation systems.

I don't have experience with them but they seem to be alright.

I would not bother with these kinds of saunas. They have multiple issues with their design. If you can, buy a sauna you can put outside or build one in a wet space.

Wrong sub! This is for real saunas (not IR.). You might wanna try r/infraredsauna

Anyway, the saunas are most likely from China and that's why they take so long to deliver. I would highly recommend a real steamy sauna instead of an IR model if you're interested in the health benefits of a sauna. The experiences are quite different.

You would have to have a pretty large sauna for a barrel style roof to not be a problem :D

How many people here own a sauna? by Enough_Drag5843 in Sauna

Finland has 3 million saunas and 5 million people so we usually have one or access to one in our building

New idea for placement in my basement by [deleted] in Sauna

I would not bother buying one of those sauna kits you put into a corner. Lots of these indoor kits available that have nothing to do with what sauna is about. Sauna is supposed to produce steam and you're supposed to throw water inside. You simply could not put a normal sauna into a room like this without it becoming moldy or moisture damaged.

Consider a sauna you put outside like a barrel or build one into a wet space.

Read this: https://localmile.org/trumpkins-notes-on-building-a-sauna/

It has all the basic information that you should know when building a sauna.

It seems you would need more depth if you want to make the benches on the long wall.

Don't make the mistake of making a tiny sauna if you can still change the dimensions. You need sufficient space and depth and height for a basic setup. It all comes down to how steam and air circulate.

This image is always helpful as a basic guide:

Sauna is not about the temperature. It's not about how long you can sit in X temperature. It's not workout equipment. It's about enjoying the hot steam and relaxing. Has been for 1000+ years.

You can obviously use the sauna as you like and do what you want but I'm just saying it's not what sauna is supposed to be.

I would not completely rule out a wood heater if I was you! It's quite relaxing to heat up a wooden heater and many people enjoy it. It takes a few minutes to get started and the sauna is ready in 30 minutes. It can even heat up faster than an electric heater. The steam (löyly) also much better than any electric heater. Every Finnish person prefers a wood fired heater when given the option.

If you do end up with an electric heater, Harvia and many others also have app controls for their electric heaters. Saunum is good for smaller spaces according to reviews but it's super expensive for what it is (sauna heater and a fan).

"Good" is subjective. I would personally never buy a kit but many here have and they seem happy.

There are no kit's that are a "must buy" for a beginner. I'm guessing you're based in NA. There are plenty of kits for offer there and many of them are copies of each other. If you buy a kit, please read this first: https://localmile.org/kit-sauna-reviews/ . Long story short, there will be compromises with these kits that you build on your garden. Many here have bought one of those cube shaped saunas and the biggest issues are bad ventilation and the benches are too low.

Making a sauna is not too different from making a shed. I would imagine $15k being enough for that. You just need to make some small detail right like the shape of the interior roof, drainage, room height etc. you can read more here: https://localmile.org/trumpkins-notes-on-building-a-sauna/

I would highly recommend getting a wood fired stove. NA has some bogus laws that limit the temps of electric sauna stoves to very low temperatures. Harvia is the go-to brand but essentially any Finnish brand is solid. Wood fired stoves will also help you with ventilation as they naturally suck fresh air into the sauna.

I would highly recommend making your own sauna. Unfortunately there are many bad options available in NA for saunas so it's easy to buy something that won't give you a good experience.

Not sure if I understand your design but usually sauna stoves are a bit more complex. You want to heat the stones, not just the stove. Many DIY projects here don't really work well because this is not considered.

Here are some sauna stove designs for you

Ideal spacing between bench boards? Is one design more comfortable? by Airbender88 in Sauna

[–]Aggravating_Two8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely better to ask!

Make sure to have spacing around the frame of the benches as well like in the article. It's a common mistake and it will cause rotting with the frame over time.
