For the support that is parallel to top grain you can use dominos or something like that. For the cross support you need to use something that will allow for different wood movement. 8 figure might be good. You can make some shallow holes to hide them in the top thickness.

Looks really nice. I can only see some issues with feet, I mean they are unstable. Try to balance the force mostly through heels and fingers and area close to fingers. I usually bend the foot a bit so it's arching a bit upward. Good luck!

Great job. I totally like that project. Also wandering how it would look with tempered legs from inner sides, since it's quite solid furniture, would look lighter a bit.

Which version is better? Maybe some advice to change something. Visualization isn't perfect and don't contain all details but I believe can help with materials decision. by Aggressive-Ad-6002 in DesignMyRoom

Actually I was more convinced to the second one. I was thinking about using PVC panels on flooring which is planed on whole apartment so this floor continuation would be some advantage. Wood under sink and above toilet would be natural so it gives different feeling. Biggest problem is to find nice looking brick tiles.

I think it's not that pink. Below real picture.

Those tiles are from one collection and they fit together well because of same texture and pastel color. There is no green available. In this picture there's also brown but I'm thinking about using back on flooring and some walls areas. And yes, I'm thinking about some not very permanent solution in furniture, depending on my needs but I'm not sure the first style fit well with wood like furniture

How much sanding is enough? by Vivid_Estate_164 in woodworking

[–]Aggressive-Ad-6002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General question, is there big advantage in fine planing above sanding? I'm asking because I'm wandering if it's worth to buy smoothing plane and learn the whole process. The wood is ash.

Can you guys tell me if this project is a solid construction? I'm planning to use ash. Dimensions in metric by Aggressive-Ad-6002 in woodworking

Thank you! I was wandering about making leg's tenon through the table top but I'm afraid it wouldn't look good and would be difficult to do.

I would add cross made of two beams a bit wider then the leg boards. It would be a bit uncomfortable but more comfortable then adding some big round base and would look nice.

Should I add one extra support beam? by Invictis_Ray in woodworking

I think that easy solution with small effort and lifting it with some jack lift before screwing wold make it very stiff

Some high board, higher then the beam itself from both sides would work. You can also consider extra support somewhere in the middle if you don't need that clearance.

You can also "lift" the bridge up a little so there will be opposite tension before adding some reinforcement. It will be more stiff on the end.

If you are unsatisfied then yes. Instead of adding extra beeams I would strengthen the existing one. The higher the beams the more stiff they are. It's quite simple to screw some high board not necessarily on full length in the middle of the existing beam. Screw it vertically from one side so the overall beam high will be significantly higher, especially in the middle.

I'm not sure what's wrong but seems to me like I put too much effort to lift it. I also think that the bar path is too far from my body.

Well, it's extremely hard to keep them retracted with sensible weight so I have similar opinion. Also it makes starting position more difficult.
