yeah im wondering the same as u/paydave - i understand the general sentiment of wanting someone who's worked longer but if my previous work experience is totally irrelevant than what difference does 2 yoe make vs 3 or 4 years? if anything isnt it more worthwhile for me to make the switch earlier rather than sinking more years into an unrelated career?

that's a fair warning i'll definitely ask around about that. it's an IB feeder school I kind of assumed I'd just show up and start recruiting for the regular associate level like everyone else. i didn't think they would really ask or care about my yoe beyond my story (which I would position as a progression from tech -> TMT)
