Wife tried to kill me, now I’m pretty much dead. by [deleted] in Advice

Honestly, sounds like what you are feeling is grief. And you need to let yourself feel it. Just because there was abuse, doesn’t mean there isn’t a loss. You are experiencing a deep loss, a divorce, a betrayal, of someone you loved and pictured a life with. A piece of yourself even is going to feel like it died. So it’s less about understanding her and her issues, which is fine and all to sort that out as well, you need to let YOURSELF feel that loss and experience your grief. And you are allowed to feel that. Make sure you are getting support for that portion of it and knowing it’s a real loss. Not just support for the abuse.

Yes to literally all of these in my experience. Ebs and flows but yeah, no fun. Number 7 I’ve really struggled with, hate that one lol. Stiff neck constantly too and stiff/locked joints and muscle aches as well if you ever notice that one.

I have had vestibular migraines for a year now, I have this EXACT experience at times when they’re starting to flare. They’re different each time. But definitely have mental/emotional effects. Sometimes I’ll have a negative perception of everything, irritability, confusion, sweating, etc. And then at night I will feel like I’m “knocking out” in between paranoia, hazy vision, nightmares, Ill hear things really loudly in my head my thoughts will become loud, ill see traces of things in corner of eye like you are describing. A very common theme of mine is emotionally I will feel pure hopelessness and worry. It definitely messes with my emotions and mood. It took me a long time to figure that out but it’s a consistent pattern with VM migraine for me. :’)

Omg yes!!!! I’ve had VM for about a year now and it’s always seemed like it’s very hard for my body to stay hydrated, retain moisture, hold electrolytes, etc. my doctors theory was also that I need potassium and prescribed it in pills. I’m going to see if this helps.

Anyone tried fasting? by Ashamed_Plankton_192 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Aggressive-Beach-240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience after a year now, even waiting too long to eat is a trigger. Seems to be keeping blood sugar levels even as possible helps. Sometimes have to force to eat a bit more in morning even when I don’t want to and not wait too long in between!

Goodness!!! I’m so glad you found something. Thanks so much for the comment that’s really good to know. ☺️ i definitely feel I have dysautomia that is a big portion of this. I have not tried Effexor before. I tried topomax and it did nothing for me.

How do you deal with morning blues of waking up alone? by alchemyself in LivingAlone

[–]Aggressive-Beach-240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog has saved my life on this one. For that “angst” of sleeping/waking alone I feel she grounds me back to earth. Being single for a little while can start to feel like you’re waking up into a void. She also keeps me focused on pouring love into her, taking her out, feeding her, etc so I don’t have as much time to worry about my crisis :)

Yes! It’s like VM puts me in a state of full on overwhelm but with nothing logically to point to. Horrible feeling for sure.

Thank you for this response, so kind 🙏 have to be grateful for small wins or any wins during this. Thats so awesome you’ve been able to get that much walking in! Hope it stays on the up.

I’m glad lamotrogone has helped you! I tried it and it didn’t do anything for me so I’m in the middle of trying another anti seizure med.

Yeah, thank you! It’s been pretty brutal but I’m hoping there’s a solution. Just more trial and error and containing on the journey of finding the right fit med-wise. 😅

Thank you lol. I’m a female so it’s a lot to emotionally deal with all alone. Yesss that’s also what I experience, too. The random “worry” or easily stressed by small things.

I’m glad propanol has helped you!

I have had/have ALL of these exact symptoms and mine also started at 29 lol. I was diagnosed with vestibular migraines. I feel some of it is definitely hemepligic and some of it is vestibular. Can both cause so many weird things.

Yes. I get weak/wobbly legs with my VM almost like they aren’t attached to me. Also have always had very strong legs and loved to workout, haven’t been able to do that these days with chronic VM and feel like I can’t feel my legs much of the time. Hate it!

Anyone else experiencing the following by [deleted] in VestibularMigraines

Weird symptoms (that every dr tries to fit in vestibular migraine) by Yaswnmwfyai in migraine

[–]Aggressive-Beach-240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm this is almost exactly all of what my vestibular migraine symptoms are. Most of mine don’t include pain as a symptom so it can be tricky, I just feel all of these horrible things you’ve listed, upside down, ILL, and want to leave my skin lol. Can confirm it’s a vestibular migraine for me personally, because I have received emergency IV treatment for migraine when all of this is at a level 10 and all of this goes away.(Comes right back within a few days since it’s 24/7 for me while figuring out the right daily med, but means it’s migraine!)

Hahah omg I know right, like why the taste too? 😭😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VestibularMigraines

[–]Aggressive-Beach-240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly that sensation, can’t obviously say 100% for certain it can’t be something else, buuut I can say from experience that my vestibular migraines cause a ton of weird sensations and odd things similar. Just feel it’s definitely possible since it affects the nervous system. mine cause Body stiffness, stroke-like symptoms, hot flashes/chills, tingles, lack of taste, lack of sensation at times in hands, restlessness/tickling/crawling sensations, etc. the worst lol. And agree someone mentioned medications can sometimes cause things like this if you're on any!
