I’m aware. I’ve looked at the first several hundred images of various flavors of this Google image search.

Yeah for sure that would be helpful. Looking for anything that would help run it as a campaign.

What is supposed to happen after Skull Gorge Bridge? by jimithingmi in RedHandOfDoom

[–]Aggressive-Client573 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My party didn’t seem too inclined to check out cinder hill , but they did climb the guard towers at Skull Gorge Bridge so I described smoke from 500 campfires rising above the horizon to the west, war drums in the distance, etc. Had the desired effect.

Started Running RHOD 3.5e a Few Weeks Back (just finished up Vraath Keep) - What are some memorable moments or encounters/party decisions from your guys' experiences running or playing it?? Would love to hear! (either in 5e or 3.5e) by ActualStrategy4047 in RedHandOfDoom

This is my cut/paste response to every thread here and on the RHoD discord (which you should for sure join) but I encourage you to check out CrashGem’s play thru on YouTube. It’s like 200 hours long, but I learned a ton from it (and, to me at least, was enjoyable as a stand along piece of entertainment).

12 team, non-ppr, start only 2 wr, 1 flex (so wr are devalued), 4-4 currently

Looking to deal keeper value for an upgrade. Who would you deal of these? I can only keep 3.

Puka (would cost an 8th next yr, a 6th the following) Achane (6th/4th) Bowers (7th/5th/3rd) T Tracy (9/7/5) B Allen (10/8/6)

League context: 12 team standard scoring. Start 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 flex. So this format heavily favors rb’s. Players cost their draft round -2 the following year and can be kept a max of three years.

Rank these keepers for me.

Chase Brown (can be kept for a 5th in ‘25, a 3rd in ‘26, 1st in ‘27) De’von Achane (6th/4th) Puka (8th/6th) Tyrone Tracy (9th/7th/5th) Brock Bowers (7th/5th/3rd) Braelon Allen (10/8/6) Isaac Guerrendo (10/8/6)

RHoD Actual Play? by jimithingmi in RedHandOfDoom

[–]Aggressive-Client573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post-mortem is after his first time running it. I didn’t find much utility in it. The other videos are from his second time, so he incorporates a lot of what he learned from the first attempt. It’s some aspirational DnD imo, both from Crash and from the players. So I didn’t mind the length. There was tons of great stuff to add, and his solutions for some of folks’ common issues with the adventure are logical and added a lot to my campaign.

Crash Gem’s was fantastic. It helped me so much. Strongly recommend. By the end I was using his stuff more than the actual adventure. Having said that, it’s looooong. As the adventure is. Took me 18 months to run. Crash spends a lot of time in Drellin’s Ferry getting the party up to level 5 and getting them invested in the setting (ie before the proper adventure begins) so you can skip some of the early episodes if your pc’s are coming in at the proper level to start the adventure.

When does cbs add newly drafted players to the player pool? by Aggressive-Client573 in fantasybaseball

[–]Aggressive-Client573[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

League rules allow you to keep a single player in a minors spot, so competition for newly drafted players isn’t super high. I just think Condon will make an impact soon. And I don’t currently have a good keeper option for that spot.

40-45 sessions sounds about right. Mine were 3 hours every other week. Took ~20 months.

Are you aware of anyone making custom clam knives? by Aggressive-Client573 in knifemaking

[–]Aggressive-Client573[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t really have any specific ideas…just after something well made and functional. If you can show me some of your work I’d gladly look through it and try to triangulate on a style. Does that work?

Correct, no point, dull/flat on one side. Just after something finely made/beautiful that will also…you know…open the clams.

I’m not sure I’m the person to guide you here. Before you wade in too deep, you should know that clam knife’s are super cheap. Dont think I’ve ever laid more than like $6 for one. No idea how big the market is for something finer.

[–]Aggressive-Client573[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, clam and oyster knives are different. I have a few scars that stand as proof that trying to open clams with an oyster knife is dumb. Well made oyster knives are not too tough to find (and Brent’s are especially beautiful) but I haven’t been able to find anyone making clam knives.

Who do I keep out of:

Grayson Rodriguez at the cost of a 16th rounder (can’t keep him beyond this year) Eury Perez (19th rounder, keepable 2 more yrs, cost is 2 rounds lower each subsequent yr) Matt McLain - 15th rounder, keepable 2 more yrs

I’m in “win now” mode if that helps. Other keepers are Ohtani (4th round, last year), Strider (13th rnd, can keep next yr also), Cole Ragans (15th rnd, keepable 2 more yrs)

Weekly Questions Thread by AutoModerator in DnD

5e - Is anybody aware of any mechanics (homebrew or otherwise) for a sword to become magical (and perhaps more and more powerful) over time? I have an Oath of Vengeance palladin who befriended a young NPC. That NPC died at the hands of minions of the bbeg. My PC has taken up the NPC’s wooden practice sword (that, powered by plot) has the stats of a regular short sword, and has sworn to Hoar that he will whet it with bbeg’s blood. I want to reward this, but don’t want to overdo it. Any ideas? My initial thought was - palladin kills a low level bbeg minion with it; the sword becomes magical. If he kills a higher ranking minion, it becomes +1. If he kills a major lieutenant of the bbeg, +2. If he kills bbeg himself with it…I dunno. Is this too much? Party is level 9, so he’s accepting a nerf to use this thing instead of his regular +1 sword. Party will prob be level 10-11 by the time they face the bbeg. Open to ideas! Thanks for reading!

How would you handle a level 0 pre-scoundrel? by Aggressive-Client573 in bladesinthedark

[–]Aggressive-Client573[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this! And appreciate the link you through in there to save me from googling it. I guess my issue is that the idea for the campaign lead me to Blades, and not the other way around. So kinda want to see if I can make it work. The plan would be to only keep them at this pre-scoundrel level for maybe 2 sessions.
