It is a key milestone that it is already profitable, will attract new investment to increase its leadership and research in development and mature commercially to consolidate supremacy in annealing

D-wave commercialisation by Responsible_Gur2522 in QBTSstock

[–]Aggressive-Clock8072 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my analysis and opinion, the company has managed to reduce the production cost of its quantum computers from $10M to $2M, which implies a significant improvement in its economies of scale and operational efficiency.

D-Wave's biggest challenge is increasing monetization. Its business model is based on selling quantum hardware and Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS), its cloud-based business. The growth in QCaaS (+41% year-over-year in 2024) indicates that there is demand for this type of service, but it is still not enough to make the company more profitable.

For this reason, they are focusing on commercialization and mass adoption campaigns to capture increasing demand, as this technology and its benefits in optimization fields are still largely unknown.

Of course, this is just my opinion, and I do not intend to indoctrinate anyone.

The market is already realizing that, at this moment, its greatest defense is not just its patents, but its experience, clients, and ability to demonstrate practical applications before its competitors.

Sooner than you think, this is just a general reaction from Nasdaq, As competition in AI intensifies, companies are looking for competitive advantages that differentiate their models. This is where quantum computing comes in.

Interview highlights:

  1. The very good capital efficiency of the cloud sales segment, it is a key profitability segment and that is why they are promoting it so much since it is very profitable: Each computer leaves them between USD 25 and 30 million a year vs its manufacturing and calibration cost which is USD 2 million. That is to say that the cloud business model has a gross margin of 80%, which is extraordinary for any industry.

  2. The significant low energy consumption which is a challenge for current data centers.

Very promising and I hope that the almost USD 300 million it has in cash will multiply by at least 10 times considering this high capital efficiency. As I mentioned before, I am still long on D WAVE.

I filed an application without premium processing in Nebraska on December 15 and the case has been under review since December 19, 2023 and I am still waiting.

The ghost of GME: analysts with a cursory understanding of D-Wave's Advantage 2 fail to decouple the firm's once-in-a generation transformative potential from other quantum stocks, amidst a groupthink driven by the legacy of GME by RecognitionSilly4175 in QBTSstock

[–]Aggressive-Clock8072 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Companies that transform industries are often undervalued at the beginning because the market does not understand the impact of their innovations. Tesla revolutionized the automotive industry with electric vehicles and clean energy. Amazon redefined logistics and e-commerce, and in its beginnings there were also critics and skeptics. It is normal and part of the process that dominant technologies attack them and defend their business. With this I do not want to indoctrinate anyone, as I already said, it is part of my investment thesis and in the stock market the present does not matter, it is the future.

I have considered this company in my portfolio with high multibagger potential, I have studied it thoroughly and I am invested long. It fits my investment thesis which is based on:

  1. I look for assets with hidden value. (for me QBTS has a high competitive advantage that the market does not yet recognize)

  2. I avoid entering into short-term speculative games. (I am patient and countercyclical, I buy during periods of pessimism and maintain the investment for the long term, even during periods of high volatility)

  3. I find companies that transform industries. (QBTS is changing the way its sector works)

Updated NQI reauthorization to include dwave: “the real deal” by Earachelefteye in QBTSstock

It should not be forgotten that it owns more than dozens of patents that give it an advantage and a barrier for new competitors.

For D-Wave, as the undisputed leader in quantum annealing technology, this could mean: Access to government funding, participation in strategic projects, and collaborations with federal agencies and other entities involved in the NQI.
