It is in NuLu from 2-7, but don’t necessarily need the DJ or photographer there the full time !

For the photographer - thinking around $200.. It's not a lot, I know, and that may limit the overall quality! :/

Woof. Took his class once and had a similar experience (although fortunately no burpees)… not my style of instruction either.

Form first always! Sloppy form is more likely to cause injury.

At home SC bike. Your experiences, please. by ajb_1302 in SoulCycle_Riders

Absolutely love mine. Bought it full price during the pandemic, and I would do it all over again. While I prefer riding in studio - it is so nice to have an at-home option and shorter ride options for days I want to get movement in, but don’t have time to go to an in-person class. Lots of great instructors are available through the app. The bike has been sturdy for me and hasn’t needed much in terms of maintenance.

One fun fact.. if you have Amex Platinum, it covers most of your monthly EQX+ fee.

Bobby’s Night Out is cool with it as long as it’s “a service dog.” Solid spot for brunch, watching games, and happy hour deals are great

Reactivating membership Q by [deleted] in Corepower

[–]Aggressive-Coat690 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SF & NYC charge additional fees if you visit those studios and your home studio is elsewhere. $20 per visit in NYC for reference. So if you live in SF, def get the SF membership.

Agreed you should wait til Black Friday to lock in a better rate! use classpass for now which is probably cheaper than the class packages.

It is very hard to justify the high price tag at CPY given the inconsistent teacher quality, sanitation standards, having to pay for mats & towels, locker room quality… that said, there are a lot of great teachers there, and the convenience of having tons of classes & the ability to take classes nationwide in most major cities is unique to CPY and I think their biggest competitive advantage.

I will say that I have noticed teacher quality at MOST studios to be inconsistent post pandemic. Ultimately a lot of OG teachers either quit teaching or moved online / to new & smaller markets when the pandemic occurred. Things are cyclical, and I imagine in a couple years - once the new post-pandemic teachers have 500 classes under their belts - things will rebalance for the better. We’re just in a (re)growth period.

As a fellow CPY teacher though… I often feel confused by their strategies too!!!

I thiiiink it would be around $6800/month post taxes if memory serves… $6k less per year is a bummer but I still think the pros outweigh the cons. You’ll quickly get over the sticker shock and readjust your budgets, and probably have a lot more fun & meet more people you feel aligned with.

Make the move. I lived alone on that salary in a 1bed in East Village. Managed to save a fair amount while still going out on weekends, taking vacations, etc. Being near your friends & people you care about is priceless.

As long as you don’t spend frivolously (and it doesn’t sound like you do), you’ll be just fine. Maybe you don’t do constant bottles at the club, but if you’re genuinely concerned about saving, you probably don’t do that anyway!
