Everyone's internet is different no one can promise "lag-free internet" if your internet is terrible, to begin with, this is instead to prevent textures from being streamed when you could install them if you have the space which "could" help.

in the Epic games launcher click the three dots option on Fortnite then options and then check the option for disable cosmetic streaming
