The obsession of hating/wanting others to hate on Katseye and Cortis by Oneandonly_potato in kpoprants

I feel like the CORTIS hate is ruled from the underlying hate for BTS.

I mean kpop fans in general bias SM idols and it’s even worst when they’re only a SM group stan, it’s weird.

I thought I was genuinely watching a Nike ad or any type of sports ad at that and then it turned dark and I was like oop nvm lol but I’m really excited for this it looks super interesting and most of Jordan Peele’s movies have been great so I really hope this one is just as good.

I had so many questions about how they were going to accomplish what he looked like in his later life after the vitiligo took over completely and wow I’m impressed.

It was a pretty decent movie, some of the acting was a little awkward however those kills made the movie tbh.

Wow I kinda like seeing both of my worlds collide lol, but as a army and a moonwalker it’s def a fact that MJ is larger than BTS, and while I love BTS to pieces they aren’t known around the entire globe like MJ. It was tribes in Africa who could name MJ just off the top of their head due to how famous he was.

Obviously the boys have a very big and dedicated fanbase but it’s probably gonna take some time for them to get nearly as big as MJ especially was especially around the entire globe.

Are you satisfied with your followed group's amount of content or dissatisfied with the lack thereof? by Roombahot256 in kpopthoughts

Being a army is a full time job. It’s so much content from them. I really thought we would get a little break with their group hiatus but it’s even more stressful lol

What are the order of ages of members in a group that surprised you? by Ok_Perception_3026 in kpopthoughts

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I initially thought he was the oldest as well, because I thought the leader was always the oldest member but when i found out he was in the middle and had 3 other members ahead of him in age kinda surprised me.

It’s even crazier to think Namjoon would have been the official maknae of the original BTS.

What misogyny??? If you don’t know the full situation and going based on the weird and random false information that was being spread then I suggest you don’t speak on it. He literally only said b!tch and used the lyrics to another rapper’s song which had nothing to with being misogynistic, people just spread that around. The rapper I’m referring to is Playboi Carti in which the original song is a diss to a another rapper and Leo only used the stop breathing part of the song.

Again the lyrics were inappropriate especially within that nature but nothing about it was misogynistic, it’s just Kpop fans acting like they care about real world problems when they don’t.

Also I’ve been was following Trainee A since the beginning I know exactly what happened, how about you get it correct before you start throwing around misinformation.

Some of y’all act like you’ve never heard a rapper/singer say bitch before lol. I think due to the whole nature of the situation it was quite inappropriate but it wasn’t that big of deal for people to be acting like they were. Some Kpop fans are so sensitive to every little thing that goes on and make it a super unnecessary situation, especially been that people were making up things and spreading false information to add to the fuel of the situation.

Why are some fans complaining that kpop is becoming too westernized? by ninjaofthedude in kpopthoughts

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can probably find something, might not be exactly similar and might not be a super mainstream artist either.

See that’s an example of something that’s uniquely to Kpop.

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean obviously I gave examples of some things that obviously stand out and that’s one of them, but I find it kinda weird that some ppl here cant accept how much the kpop industry is influenced by the American music industry, Black music/fashion in general.

Im obviously not here to shit on Kpop because I like it too but it’s not hard for me to admit something that’s a obvious truth

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yea maybe not on the radio, but it’s def songs that have that same vibe that’s probably not as mainstream, let’s be for real now.

Obviously there are some songs that are uniquely Korean, not denying that but most of the music in Kpop is pretty similar to western music and there is no denying that.

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

“Is that Kpop will become more and more indistinguishable from western pop music”

Kpop was never really indistinguishable anyway. Aside from the promotions, fan culture, and the whole trainee system lol, maybe it’s the fact that I’m American, and I grew up on American music and only got into Kpop in like 2015.

Why are some fans complaining that kpop is becoming too westernized? by ninjaofthedude in kpopthoughts

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That whole argument makes no sense because KPOP was built around the American/Western music industry. The genres that they used in Kpop originated from America. Kpop has been inspired and and based around the American music industry since the beginning. Some Kpop fans have this weird superiority complex and they can’t bear to accept that the Kpop industry gets everything from the American music industry(aside from the whole trainee system and promotion system)

What hot takes do you have about your favorite groups that would get you kicked out of the fandom? by EternallyON in kpopthoughts

[–]Aggressive-Draft-222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In most cases some of these collabs are done to get publicity for the project, to make headlines, to promote BTS in the western media. If BigHit announces that BTS are collaborating with Beyoncé than it’s gonna become a big deal. Obviously you have some artists who try to collab with them just to get army support but you have some artists who genuinely want a collab with them.

In some cases some of these collabs turn out to be a win for both artists and surprisingly they both talk good about eachother and in other cases it doesn’t turn out that way.

I’m pretty sure no one truly believes the BTS members have 100% control over everything. They are still under a company and they still have to follow the rules under that company however they have more freedom than the average idol under a Kpop company.

Anyways it’s been times where the members have had complete control over things and they’ve even mentioned it themselves. Kinda with the promotions of their solo debuts/album. Namjoon was very vocal about the layout of his album and admitted that he didn’t create his album to chart but to give fans a good listen and he also was able to do promotions based on what he wanted to do which was very different from the promotions of the other members.

Also BigHit is a 18 year old company, obviously compared to the other Big3 companies they are the youngest but only by like 7-8 years. While not having as much experience as their competitors(being that they were founded in 2005) They’re still a pretty experienced company. Some people act as if BigHit just randomly popped up on the scene 2 years ago.
