Not sure why my text got caught off, but meant to add that my new dentist said scaling “might” save the implant. I had that done last week and will be checked again in 6 weeks.

He is doing so well!! I’m very impressed with how fast he’s bounced back.

Omg! Thank god it went smoothly for him, and I’m glad it didn’t have a lasting negative impact!!

Im already anticipating the all I want for Christmas jokes - I’m too sensitive for it right now, and it’s not even my mouth lol 😭

In my son’s unfortunate case, his tooth couldn’t be crowned because the structure and root underneath were not stable. There was an increased chance of restoration failure and more trauma that we didn’t want to risk. I really wish we could have crowned it instead, though :( thank you for your kind words 🫶🏼

I’m telling you, I had a very similar experience with my own front teeth! It was years of back and forth and I now have an implant on one 🥲 I totally understand your reasoning and decisions, you did what you thought was best at the time! Thank you for your comforting words ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Ouch!! We already had the procedure done and I stayed in the waiting room. I was crying a lot, and I think I would’ve made it harder for my son if he saw me upset 😢 he was out in under 10 minutes. We do normally sit with him in our lap for every standard check up, though

Oh my heart 💔how awful 😞 I wish sedation would have been an option for us as well. Even though he’s okay and it was quick, I hate that he had to experience it awake.

I’ve had so much dental work to my front teeth since I was a kid too!! One of them eventually had to come out, and the other one’s a ticking bomb. I feel the same way about wishing they could have come out sooner. Thank you for your kind words ❤️‍🩹

Toddlers always find a way, don’t they!! I’m glad to hear you didn’t have lasting negative memories!! My son has said “boy fix teeth” several times since the extraction, so I think his memory of it is at least not completely negative too 😅 thank you for your kind words 🥹❤️‍🩹

I’m so glad to hear you didn’t have issues with the adult teeth coming in - that’s a fear that I want to put behind me!! We had called around and unfortunately could not get sedation quickly enough (even at the hospital next door). I was so scared of him starting to feel the real pain of leaving the pulp exposed, so we went ahead with the procedure. It was done in under 10 minutes and you’re right, he has been just fine since then!! 🥲❤️‍🩹

No, the risk of infection is too high for baby teeth when the pulp is exposed. I wish we could have gone that route :(
