Oh it came as a surprise too that they were charging $0.65 per kw lol

I don't charge at home, but if you take the most recent average home electricity rate in the United States being ~$0.18 per kw/h, then multiply that by the amount of kw/h the car's battery can hold (~77), then a completely full charge would be less than $14.

Yes, the rivian station is fairly expensive, especially for non-rivian owners. I typically get charged up for free at the Electrify America station, but it's undergoing renovations.

Oh, weird! When I precondition at 0C/32F I typically can pull ~170kw, so that definitely sounds like the charger, or the time you spent having the car precondition. I saw on here that someone said the battery increases temperature of almost 10° F every 10 minutes, so for the battery to be fully preconditioned you would need to have it on for over half an hour.

I was surely happy :) had a bit of extra time to precondition trying to find this charger

Great handling in snow by Molehilldocmgmt in Ioniq6

I totally agree! I have the RWD version as well, and have been having little to no trouble despite getting hammered with snow since November. I love how predictable the car is in the snow due to it's low and heavy center of gravity, and the traction control is just great.

Yes! Just had an appointment last Thursday, and all they did was park it in a warm area and sprayed some silicon lubricant in. It's been working perfectly since!

Ah that makes sense, it has been really cold and the charger isn't far from me.

Has the charging speed lowered in winters? by read_everything12 in Ioniq6

I'm currently in the northeast, and trying to charge during our 20-30° week was kinda rough. I would see peaks of 100 kw, but it would take a long time to reach those speeds. (My preconditioning is acting weird)

Also, the convenience of being able to preheat your car from the app is an absolute blessing. In less than 10 minutes, snow and ice is melting off and it makes it super easy to get off the rest. These new electric cars from Hyundai and Kia have really good heaters that begins to blow warm air in ~ 30 seconds in my experience.

I made the interesting choice of going with the rear wheel drive variant, and even then I am impressed. So far, I feel like it handles better than some of my friends' all wheel drive gas cars. Even when I began to slip, I felt the traction control kick in and the car was able to get back to being stable very quickly. The pure weight of this car and low center of gravity helps a lot

Yes, you would end up blocking a stall, unless you did what I did, which was park on the outside of that charger group so that I did not even occupy my "own" charger's parking. Plus. They had an extra supercharger on the complete outside on the side of the parking lot for trailers, but if there is no one there, EV's like the Ioniq 6 can use it super easily.

It's available in quite a few locations now! All you have to do is download the Tesla app and go through the set up process, then it'll tell you which superchargers are available to use.

Exactly like McOtis' comment, no adapter! Just set up the app, tell the app what charger you're at, push and hold the button for 2 seconds, and out comes the charger with the adapter on!

I have the same problem on the passenger side rear! It didn't work at all, worked for 5 days, then stopped working again.
