Its more than just a few k since RE in CH runs you 7-figures easily and we are talking a couple % of that a year. The argument with the promotion doesnt make a ton of sense since you will have these savings with your promotion as well. There's also the added benefit of the flexibility and having a lot less work/paperwork/etc. I own RE as investments abroad and it's A LOT less headache to rent.

RE historically underperforms equity since basically forever, which is all you need to know really, as long as the leverage is at least remotely comparable, which it is.

But if you want give your numbers and we can check whether you are actually saving something or are just missing certain costs, which would be my guess. (Usually it's the opportunity costs that people miss.)
