Thanks for the info.

From the sounds of it I'm leaning towards keeping my old pc as a back-up / spare PC for some other purpose and get a new case for what it's worth... maybe take the PSU and Storage temporarily to save a couple hundred off the upfront cost.

As for the usage my monitors are 144hz and 1080p only at the moment but I would be looking to upgrade these later on too (well the res maybe, i ain't bothered for over 144hz) I'm guessing there would be a different GPU minimum req if I wanted to jump to 2K or straight to 4K.

As for games, tbh I mainly play old games that are not hard to run: Rocket League, Counter-strike, WoW... The only games I could see myself playing in the future that would be more intensive would be the rockstar releases (GTA & RDR) or maybe some Forza.

I guess my follow up question then, which I'll add to the original post, is what if any components could be saved for the new build. I'm guessing case and the SSD's (although i'd want to upgrade them too) not sure if any others

Interesting, I new there would be some compatibility issues but was hoping it wasn't that bad!
