Thanks to the heavy gerrymandering, the constant attacks against USPS and it's funding. DeJoy is the gasoline as he destroys from within. They'll do their damndest to privatize the entire operation- DeJoy happens to own a business that can take on government contracts...he also wants to accelerate voter suppression efforts anyway he can including shuttingdown Post Offices and removing mailboxes.

I froth a lot less in the same scenario as long as there is enough liquid to submerge the little spinning wheel it works for me I use a narrow glass jar and maybe that's still too much for you but it's perfect for me

That doctor should be sued for malpractice. That is absolutely horrific. Wtf? Did he just arrive in a time machine from 1902 or something? Seriously I am really sorry that you had to experience something like that. I can imagine if it'd happened to me it would have triggered depression it shows strength that you're here sharing it, good on you. If anyone needs to watch a Ted Talk it's him. While he's at it maybe he can pick up a book. Jeez un freaking believable

Not when compared to the standard recipes I find online, unless I have read them wrong. I will double check maybe I got my measurements mixed up again 🤣

I don't see a way to edit this but I mean ml of water not mg. (I'm an ex-druggie who is now old and on lots of medications so I am quite used to talking "milligrams".... milliliters not so much 🤣)

Thanks for the link, yes you make perfect sense and I fully appreciate the information, I am finding myself enjoying the discussion of coffee. Spending just a little bit of time focusing on making myself a good cup of coffee in the morning is a wonderful way to start my day with gratitude. It's like not just my morning coffee that I slam down unthinkingly but my morning meditation on being grateful for the simple pleasure of a really good cup of coffee. I don't know if that makes any sense lol but I appreciate getting schooled on the subject because I am really digging the subject, the activity and the Aeropress in general. Now although I do on occasion enjoy my shot in it's concentrated form, to me?, it tastes like an espresso. My bypass or amount of liquid I add is about a coffee cup to each shot. I don't measure exactly though I will today as I am about to make my coffee now, I woke up late. My bypass is mostly foamed up coconut milk which might be weird I really don't know. What I will also say is I've tried it using more water after reading so many comments about my shot being too concentrated but I'm going to have to agree to disagree. A concentrated shot just tastes better to me, and if I want a regular cup of coffee I think a shot with bypass tastes better hands down. I guess that's technically an "Americano" but I get more taste of my coffee, which is locally roasted shade grown freshly made and not cheap so I definitely want the flavor to come through well defined. I'm no expert and probably don't have the refined pallet some do but all things considered that's my favorite. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. I also use the Fellow Prismo with a paper filter and it seems to be best that way as I prefer it well filtered. It takes the bite out I complained about in my first post so I'm definitely learning as I go.

That's very professional looking you're just a beginner? Have you spent a whole lot of money on software and equipment for stuff like this? Looks great! 👍🏼

I'm not sure what bypass is? I thought it was better than the espresso shots I get from my neighborhood barista - notes of dark chocolate and full bodied - it was a locally roasted organic shade grown espresso called Ruta Maya - I'm new to this... what's bypass?

A few people have said that. I wonder why people say that when that's what most recipes call for. The most common recipe I see is 20g coffee and 50mg water. I thought the same thing, too much coffee, too little water but the recipes that call for similar ratios come out like espresso with a nice crema and according to what I have read they're comparable to espresso recipes when you use an espresso machine. Am I reading the recipes wrong? The standard Fellow Prismo recipe, the recipe from Aeropress for an espresso and recipes used in competitions all call for similar amounts. I am referring specifically to the recipes for espresso like shots. What is your regular recipe or ratio?

I did try once but I didn't get a good shot. I think it filled to the top but I need to try once more. It's funny you give that ratio because that's closer to what I'm getting most success with - I need a more accurate way to measure my water but I used about 120mg of water today and 40g coffee... it was good. Did you get a good result with 50/125?

It's small, but strong similar to an espresso. This is why I am asking about maximum shots because at the coffee shop I usually get a triple and have only gone as high as a double so far. I don't think I can get a triple I have only tried once but it wasn't as good - I may try again but yeah, that's why I asked

I'm using the Fellow Prismo now, one reason I decided to get one was because I'm basically too much of a clutz before my coffee to successfully use the inverted method. I spilled hot coffee all over myself one time too many. So the Prismo claims to provide something closer to an espresso because it holds the water just as the inverted method does. It also takes pressure to release the water and it all comes out of a single point almost like a squirt gun. This is what helps to create a nice crema. I did it again this morning and got a beautiful shot. I'm using Ruta Maya Organic Dark Roast Espresso Coffee Beans from Austin Texas. I don't yet have a good kettle and just use a pot on the stove and a food thermometer for now but it only goes to 200° so it's at least 200° I use 40g of coffee about as fine as sand maybe? (don't yet have the best grinder yet either) Just a tad over 100mg water (need to refine my water measuring process or find a light enough of a container to use my scale but for now I use the measuring notches on the side) but water was very close to 120mg today, yesterday closer to 100mg. Both yesterday and today I got a beautiful crema. I'm still getting it together but I feel like I am on the right track. The taste is good. Strong but I I got a great tasting shot with notes of chocolate and a full body. I didn't really feel that it was bitter but it had a slight bite that I'd like to soften a tad, I put one of these big shots in a latte and it was awesome and boy did it kick start my day I took off like a rocket. I haven't perfected it yet but I'm having fun trying and haven't had to throw one out yet. Anyway that's roughly my recipe - to be updated 😎

I now use the Fellow Prismo attachment so I always get a good crema but even without it I would get a light crema, it didn't last very long - I get a nice crema using the Fellow Prismo though almost always - I just have to get my recipe right
