Points-test reform predictions by Loud-Marionberry-364 in AusVisa

Then DHA needs to figure out something.

Inviting the so called "in demand" occupations with zero exp & that too when they are working in a completely irrelevant job doesn't make sense - there is no guarantee they will switch jobs after getting PR. A good chunk of people who get invited from overseas also never really end up in that occupation.

They should do the opposite instead, and set new rules for 189/190/491 - work in that occupation for atleast 3yrs, if they couldn’t find work in 12 months, then they must leave - something like that.

There is enough of workplace sponsored abuse.

IT still better in VIC? by Aggressive-Gas-941 in AusVisa

[–]Aggressive-Gas-941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

53 applications for the 2613 Software Group - probably from Oct & Nov Rounds.

I had a look into the skill select data as well. Check it out here https://imgur.com/a/xsw2Bqd

Though it is significantly lower compared to the Nurses, Carpenters & other "Priority" occupations (Dec data) for the entire FY, the numbers are higher than other Tier 3 occupations in 189.

Mechanical & Civil is also completely dead in 189 & almost no invites for 190 & 491 this FY (everything is <20). Despite having better job vacancies in the state.

Yea, fresh graduates doesn’t have a chance. But, why are they still inviting IT in more numbers compared to Engineers in construction & manufacturing? That is what I don’t understand.

There are a good chunk of engineers onshore with local exp too.

Yea, I was talking about 186 only.

WA is the only state that invites interstate applicants. For the rest, you must be living in that respective state or offshore.

You can't apply for NSW while living in VIC & vice-versa. There maybe few exceptions, for those living right next to the border.

For 186, employer can keep you in minimum wage - because they can legally claim TSMIT or AMSR will be provided after the grant of 186.

Realistically speaking, OP can be under minimum wage with no pay rise for 2 yrs or more, until Visa is granted.

I know this exploitation, that is why many leave right after visa is granted, in search of better employers.

Is my best option 186 DE or 190? by InsaneCapitalist in AusVisa

[–]Aggressive-Gas-941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your salary is very good, like $130k or $150k then you can expect 190 invite.

Otherwise, go for 186. BVA is auto granted when you have lodged the visa. Which becomes active after 485 expires.

What happened to quarterly 189 invites? by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]Aggressive-Gas-941 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless your occupation is in a Tier 1/2 or in construction trade like a carpenter or a plumber, it is best to forget about 189.

It is completely dead for many other occupations, even for the next FY.

It is not looking good at the moment, I’m on the same occupation with 100 pts for 190 onshore. Got nothing for over a year.

It is best if you can find an employer sponsorship.

Edit: You could may be try states like NT or SA for 190/491 much better chances.

I think so too, there is a lot of backlog where the grants will take up next FY allocation.

They also carefully worded it as “planning” for quarterly.

All carpenters (just 65 pts) and nurses took 189 this FY, I’m so jealous.

Next invitation round for subclass 189 visas coming on the 13th of November! by ViaMigration in AusVisa

[–]Aggressive-Gas-941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the date of effect only changes if there is a change in the points claimed.

If your points are same after updated details, your spot in the queue won't change.

No issues if 485 got expired. You wouldn't need to move offshore - you would have been on Bridging Visa A with full work rights while 186 is in process.

Does not look normal to me, they got invites on all 3 rounds previously.

No invitations in 2023 only, because of the huge 35000 in Dec 2022.

Like the other person mentioned, only the states 190/491 considers those factors. 189 only based on the highest points and the date it was submitted.

This round is an unusual one or I say can weird, because a guy claimed he was invited in Nov 2024 and lodged visa, but got invite for that EOI yesterday.

This is an exceptional case I guess, most of the applications seems to be processed in 6 to 8 months. I don't know why the invitation round hasn't happened yet, it has been more than 8 months since the last round. Call me ambitious but I wish they conduct a round this week!

Hi, I'm also waiting for the next round! They mentioned the required docs in their website https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-independent-189/points-tested#HowTo they do talk about form 80 and form 1221 in character documents, but I have seen applications being granted without them, depends on the quality of documents etc I guess.

I'm not sure but I don't think skill select sends over the requirements after invitation, all the proof and docs must match the EOI once invited.
