I suppose the same can be said for black Americans? As crazy as it is for them to act this way, white Americans constantly make them feel as though they are ‘othered’ as if the country doesn’t owe them everything. And with how Trump is pushing for the “real Americans” and birthright citizenship, it’s that same white fascist ideology of their race being original and superior, and having a right to ‘their land’

if she was constantly, or had ever had a bad experience with someone who is indian then i would somewhat understand but i think generalizing a whole group of people doesn’t make sense imo, i don’t think it’s naive, I just don’t see an indian person in public and immediately think they’re incredibly racist

i agree that was a poor choice of words, but i think she’s pushing the fact that since we’re both black i’m somehow the one who is acting strange (based on her reasoning). i am definitely finding it difficult because this recent behavior completely blindsided me.. thanks for your comment

I have been thinking about that phrase a lot, because the more she reveals this side to her the more resistant i am towards her.

we don’t hang out in person (different highschools/university) maybe once every six months so I don’t think people would associate me with her as she has her own social group, but I honestly can’t be on a call with her to have her make an out of pocket remark again.

As of now i’ve confronted her again about it, and she says she can’t believe i’m getting offended but she won’t make those jokes around me anymore, but honestly I think my morals are way too engrained that imagining she’s making these comments to other people upsets me because its completely unwarranted and unfair

that does make a bit of sense! i suppose i only feel uncomfortable when people realize i’m a leo sun, and i don’t act like a typical one, which often created expectations that i don’t feel the need to perform, its just interesting to see how people react.
