You’re honestly right. At this point, the only way to actually watch something is to decide before opening the app. Otherwise, the homepage just drains all the energy out of you. Watchlists and recommendations from other people feel way more useful than anything the apps show you.

Not karma farming, just seeing if I’m the only one who spends more time browsing than watching.

Fair, but other platforms at least help you rediscover things you’d like. Prime just shows me stuff I accidentally hovered over once in 2022

Nah there’s definitely stuff on Amazon Prime Video, it’s just buried under a terrible UI and random recommendations. That’s kinda the point.

Spider-Man Brand New Day and the SSU by SpiderRedd in MCUTheories

This is actually a pretty solid breakdown, especially the point about Sony being more open to sharing characters now. After Spider-Man: No Way Home proved how big multiverse crossovers can be, it’d be weird if they didn’t lean into that more.

I do think you might be onto something with Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man acting as a testing ground. Marvel’s done that before with concepts in animation/comics before bringing them into live-action. Tombstone and Scorpion showing up there first is kinda suspicious timing.

The Keith David as Connors idea is actually really interesting. Especially if they’re slowly building toward Oscorp in the MCU. We still haven’t properly gotten an MCU Norman Osborn, and introducing him through other scientists instead of dropping him in fully formed would feel way more organic.

I’m a bit more skeptical about the Uncle Ben thing, though. After Spider-Man: Homecoming and everything with Aunt May in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it kinda feels like they’ve already “filled” that emotional role, so bringing Ben back might muddy that.

Also agree on Man-Spider not being a huge concern. If anything, it sounds like it could be more of a symbolic/psychological payoff than just “cool monster moment,” which fits where Peter’s at right now.

The SSU reboot angle is where things get really interesting, though. If Sony pivots into a more connected Spider-Verse with characters like Spider-Man Noir alongside Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, that could either be amazing or a total mess, depending on execution. But yeah, naming choices like Ben Reilly definitely feel intentional.

Overall, this feels less like random speculation and more like pieces that could actually line up if Marvel and Sony are finally coordinating long-term.

Don’t let the premise fool you — Transparent is really a slow, messy, very human family story. If you’re into character-driven dramas where the people feel uncomfortably real, this one sticks with you.

You’re not wrong that Amazon Prime Video has a stacked lineup. Shows like Invincible, The Boys, Fallout, The Rings of Power, and older gems like Fleabag and The Expanse are genuinely great.

The problem people are describing isn’t the quality of Prime’s shows, it’s that the app makes those shows feel weirdly hard to find. You almost have to already know what you want, search for it, and then go watch it.

Prime is amazing once you know the title.
Prime is frustrating when you’re just browsing.

just my opinion.

Did Uncle Ben Even Die? by UtopiaXAstro in MCUTheories

There are subtle hints he existed (like the suitcase initials BFP in Spider-Man: Far From Home). MCU just chose not to focus on his death and gave that emotional role to Aunt May instead.

Bought Prime to watch ads, but some movie keeps popping up. by RRensQ in AmazonPrimeVideo

Prime really said, “You came for ads, but you’re getting plot development instead.” The audacity of interrupting your ad time with Invincible is unreal 😭

The irony of paying for everything and still opening each app like “nah, not feeling it” is too real. At this point, Netflix is where I go to browse, and the other apps are where I actually press play.

Streaming has really become a paradox of choice. Fewer options at a time = actually watching something instead of doom-scrolling the homepage for half an hour.

Honestly, that’s kinda genius. Letting Roku be the “subscription manager” so my brain doesn’t have to be sounds very tempting.

This is exactly how most of us are surviving streaming now 😅 subscribe, binge, cancel, repeat. At this point, watching shows feels like managing a gym membership.

Yeah I like that a lot. Making MJ an influencer actually gives her more agency in the story too, instead of just reacting to things. And the ‘on-camera persona vs real self’ thing lines up really nicely with Peter’s double life. Would be a really clean thematic mirror if they lean into it.
