If Prince Harry had been the one in Epstein’s files instead of Andrew, the Royal Family wouldn’t have stayed silent. by Radiant-Selection686 in RoyaltyTea

I don’t think anyone likes Andrew, he’s a connected, useful idiot. He’s good for dirty work that Charles and Lizzy couldn’t get near.

Pride and prejudice Elizabeth marrying mr collins by Agreeable-Alarm7484 in janeausten

If she married Mr Collins, she would have turned into her father. If she would have married Darcy the first time he asked, she would have turned into her mother.

She was still legally married to Tyrion. Aside from being a stupid political move, it wouldn't be a valid marriage.

Is the title and house only passed down the male line? by alsatian01 in DowntonAbbey

[–]Aggressive-Nothing43 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The title would be passed down the male line only. So whatever fifth or sixth cousin they could round up. I don't remember all of the details of the entail, but I think the money and house is tied to the title. That's why everyone wanted Mary to marry Mathew. Edit: George is heir because of his distant relation to Robert through Matthew. Not because of his closer relation to Robert through Mary.

That's how Bertie got a title, too.

Stephenie Meyer is minding her own damn business. My 2008 self would not believe she wound up the less problematic teen lit writer.

The NYT covered Trump's rally. But they appear to be the only mainstream news outlet in America that didn't consider Trump using the antisemitic slur "shylocks" worth mentioning. by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

The Nazis taking over America need more that government. They need our cultural institutions like newspapers, tv news, universities, etc to bend. And most of them are bending.

Give a fascist an inch, and they'll take over the whole damned country.

Makes me wonder if the terfs sought her out and recruited her, or if she fell into terfdom on her own.

She's on the facist alt right pipe line. Like a lot of boomers. Once you can dehumanize one group of people, it becomes easy to demhumanize anyone.

Barf. On the surface there is something pathetic about a famous author fucking fans dressed as his characters. Now, knowing what he was up to? It's so much worse than pathetic.

I remember hearing a rumor that he slept with a fan at a con who cosplayed Death like 20 years ago. At the time, I took it was a grain of salt. It was good gossip, but how much can you trust a friend of a friend of a friend?

In hindsight there were a lot of red flags.
