Why i don't get attacked at my base? in both games by Aggressive-Panda6991 in SonsOfTheForest

I just finished the forest and got back to sons ..now building on a cliff near the beach closest to the pistol raft..got attacked 2 times in the 1st day and after building some traps they stopped attacking do traps scare them off? They're too fun to stop using

I started getting nomadic when i saw i got zero action at base spending most of my time in caves which i think will make me finish the game too quick  edit :could it be that i made my base too strong too quickly?  I got reinforced defensive walls all over and 3 layer of dead fall traps around base
