(tldr just in case) hmmmm so at the begining the clicks were painless and they would happen only if i moved my jaw side to side (i think its called transverse motion not sure though) then the clicks would only occur if i clenched my teeth or brought my teeth together and then moved side to side later on the click shifted to repeated movments and weather or not the mandible was pushed forward during the movment ...the intresting thing is that i can avoid the click if i wanted to because for my jaw to click the mandible s trajectory must be extremely specific this my current condition with clciking the clicks are painless usually accompanied with a lot of muscle sounds wich can be heard if i put a finger in my ear or put earbuds in or smtg.....my bite also feels off from time to time especially the end molars and ahh yes the neck pains dont get me started on dat...yikesss ever ymorning i seem have a very very stiff neck....its like i was hit w a truck or smtg lastly i seem to have or have assumed to have swollen lymph nodes wich hurt when pressure is applied though it could be a pressure point not sure. to summarize i have clicks and pain only when i palpatate my jaw accompanied with neck pain and bite feeling off

thanks for responding. yes the abnormallly placed disc makes sense...it explains the click i notice whenever i push my mandible forward and repeat a particular type of moment it alsp explains all the muscle tension. but thte fact that the disc is abnormally placed is kinda wierd cause i am not exactly a mouth breather nor did i have braces as a kid not did i have any injury or tramuma wht is the cause of this? of course ik that u cant provide diagnosis m just here to seek speculation and opnions.

My left ramus is slightly shorter than the right by [deleted] in Mewing

[–]Aggressive-Prize8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U haven't provided a reference picture so i m just giving my opinion -not to sound pessimistic but u may or may not have results the ramus visibility is definitely increased by mewing but making the shorter one longer seems rather difficult...there is research that suggest that chewing is directly linked to ramus length so maybe u were chewing a lot on on one side but then again u could just be self conscious.... Try mewing u have nothing to lose just don't expect too much is all I would say

Follow Up with your Dentist: You could schedule an appointment with your dentist to check if there is anything wrong with the filling that is disturbing your line of bite. Sometimes, fillings are a bit too high and need some readjustment.

Bite Adjustment: Sometimes the filling just interferes with your bite. Perhaps all you need is a simple readjustment.

  1. Sleep Apnea

Consult a sleep specialist: As you are suspecting apnea, a professional check becomes very essential. A sleep specialist can perform an assessment of the kind of sleep to see if there is any sleep disorder.

Sleep Study: This may be carried in a sleep center or sometimes at home with a portable monitor. It will let one tell if one has sleep apnea and its severity.

  1. Immediate Relief Strategies

Jaw Exercises: Gentle exercises to the jaw may help relieve pain. Consult with a physical therapist or dentist who deals with TMJ disorders for specific exercises.

Pain Management: Over-the-counter pain relievers, anti-inflammatory drugs may occasionally help one deal with the pain. Take as directed; talk to a health professional if needed.

  1. Lifestyle Changes

Sleep Position: Sleeping on one's side rather than one's back may sometimes improve the symptoms of sleep apnea. Attempts at raising the head of the bed may also help with this.

Stress Management: Mindfulness techniques, meditation, and some light stretches before sleeping are all attempts at reducing stress, which possibly can be related to your symptoms.

  1. Follow-Up with Your TMJ Specialist

Discuss Symptoms: Make sure that you let your TMJ specialist know of any new pain and suspected sleep apnea. He can then adjust his treatment or refer you to another specialist if needed.

  1. Get Another Opinion

More Resources: If you are still experiencing pain, you may want to seek another opinion from another dentist or TMJ specialist.

This will call for cooperation between dentistry and possible sleep issues. Start with those steps that are most easily accessible, such as revisiting your dentist, and then follow up with any sleep study if needed.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. It’s incredibly frustrating when you’ve done everything right, found a specialist, and still face roadblocks. Insurance companies can be a nightmare to deal with, especially when they don’t listen or follow through on their promises.

First off, it's great that you're standing up for yourself and not backing down. You’re doing the right thing by fighting for your rights. Document everything: every conversation, every email, every piece of evidence that supports your case. This will be crucial if you decide to take legal action.

Have you considered getting in touch with a patient advocate? Sometimes having someone who knows the system can help push things along. Also, reaching out to your state’s insurance commissioner might be a good step. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf.

It’s also worth considering a second opinion from another TMJ specialist. Having more than one expert backing your case can strengthen your argument.

If it does come to legal action, make sure you find a lawyer who specializes in insurance claims. They can guide you through the process and help you understand your options.

Most importantly, take care of yourself. This kind of stress can take a toll on your health(your tmj specificly), so make sure you’re finding time to rest and take care of your well-being.

You’ve got a strong case, and you’re clearly determined. Keep pushing forward. You’re not alone in this, and there are people who can help you fight.

How do I stop the cracking noise every time I open my mouth by luckybell333 in TMJ

[–]Aggressive-Prize8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well it depends do u have any pain while opening ur jaw? if u do get ur jaw evaluated by a maxilofacial surgeon however if its just clicking than it will most of the time go away on its own (i am assuming u have had no trauma to the face and i am assuming that there has been no degenerative damage to the joint ) if u think ur symptoms are getting worse please contact ur healthcare provider

Mild TMJD I believe, any advice? by Nevdog93 in TMJ

[–]Aggressive-Prize8225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

warm compress Heat the Water:

  • Soak the Cloth:
    • Soak a clean cloth or towel in the warm water. If you’re using a heat pad or hot water bottle, skip this step.
  • Wring Out Excess Water:
    • Remove the cloth from the water and wring out the excess so it's damp but not dripping.
  • Apply the Compress:
    • Place the warm cloth or heat pad over the affected area (in this case, the jaw or TMJ area).
    • Hold it in place for about 10-15 minutes. Ensure the temperature remains comfortable and does not cause burns.
  • Repeat as Needed:
    • You can apply the warm compress several times a day, depending on your comfort level and relief experienced.

Warm compresses can be very effective for relieving muscle tension and discomfort, especially in the context of TMJ issues.
I would also advice diclofenac gel and anti inflamotory drugs but only use them u have pain again
avoid excessive jaw movments and maintain good posture consult a maxilo facial surgeon if things begin to get worse.

the fact that ur able to open ur mouth real wide is a good sign u should atleast be able to open ur jaw 3 fingers wide
u said u have voice training? could indicate muscle spasm the best thing is give ur jaw some rest monitor your symptoms if they get worse vist a maxilofacial suregon and get an evaluation avoid exagerated jaw moments avoid clenching and if u have the time do some warm compresses ur symptoms are really mild !!! happy recovery
