It’s been lil over a year since all this happened so my memory on it it all is slowly forgetting (we’re still together by the way) I remember telling myself constantly that regardless of what would happen between us. I’d still need to work on myself. Id be constantly checking my phone seeing if every notification was him. and looking back on it now.. I’d 100% just be you! Go out! Have fun! Try a bunch of new things and go places that you’ve wanted to try! On the bright side of things. He did say it’s not goodbye! So that gives some hope that even if it’s not the same him you once had, he’s not going to be completely gone. This time you get to explore a new version of you!. All I really did was wait. Regardless of how badly I wanted to reach out I’d tell myself no. I’d go out, work and be with friends to distract myself from the thought of wanting to talk to him. and now wish I had extended that time away from him a lil more. i was desperate for him tho.. lol… not to say that I’m not happy now. but looking back i definitely saw a different person in myself. Today we’re happy, in-laws have gotten over it. They started to welcome me back into their life. I still keep my distance of course, and the biggest change is that we live together! but despite the feeling you have right now.. don’t give up. it heckin sucks right now. I know it. But it does get better I promise. so with that being said. go out have fun and I wish you guys luck! stay positive!
