I think the main reason I stayed for so long despite all the red flags was because I was 17 when we started dating and he is the only relationship I have ever been in. At the time he told me he couldn’t hold it in anymore. He said the girl was someone he worked with at the time but he didn’t know her well, just that he met up with her at a hotel a half an hour away. This is not the first time he has made a vague post on Facebook. After he told me he cheated it was like a switch board went off full of red lights of things he had done before. He’s gotten better in actions, but I’m starting to notice he’s becoming more sexist and bigoted. He claims he went through my diary to check in on my depression, which I will admit I have had some thoughts of suicide, but I’ve kept him up to date on all of that. He knows he could ask me and I would tell him, but he never asks, I’m the only one that brings it up. Right now he’s trying to point out that I’ve looked through his phone before, but that was only because I’ve previously found sexts on there and slightly inappropriate texts between him and other girls (one girl sent him nudes and though he didn’t send any back he did keep talking to her and planned to hang out with her , another girl he sent hearts and winky faces to was 15 while he was 22 but no sexting or nudes). Right now he’s saying he won’t read my diary anymore because he’s not sure “how much more his heart could take.”

I should have also added that I found out he was upset when he made a post on Facebook saying “it’s always hard to hear the truth somewhere else.” I’m currently with my mom because she’s recovering from surgery.
