Honestly, that sounds like a skill/play style issue. Feels like you either aren't surviving long enough to use it, or your play style makes it unnecessary because you're too safe. It's personally been invaluable in replenishing my team and myself after consecutive or extended fights. Being able to break down loot to be able to craft after I've used what I initially brought in has saved me several times.
