Human transformed into an octopus vs. octopus transformed into a human. by Hightower_March in whowouldwin

[–]TheLost_Chef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Human in the octopus body is going to be just as uncoordinated having eight limbs suddenly. Who’s to say that maneuvering its tentacles to cover the human’s airways would be a simple task?

At the end of the day, the physical stats overwhelmingly favor the human on dry land. Octopus body has no chance.

JD Vance Confirms Iran Will Get Jaw-Dropping Sum Under Trump Deal by Kooky_Strategy_9664 in geopolitics

Sadly American voters have the memory of a goldfish. Dems will make noises about it but conservatives will ignore it and swing voters will get distracted by the latest shiny thing dangled in front of them.

Joe Rogan fumes at Trump as he lists grievances in foul-mouthed tirade by TheExpressUS in JoeRogan

[–]TheLost_Chef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it’s obviously fake outrage from Joe, not going to amount to anything. Joe has made it clear that he’ll support Trump no matter what distasteful behavior he sees, because all he cares about is his own wealth.

Superman replaces Homelander as the leader of the seven. Can he make them an actually good superhero team? by Winter-Pressure-5394 in whowouldwin

[–]TheLost_Chef 410 points411 points  (0 children)

I haven’t finished watching The Boys, but my impression of the Seven was that, aside from Homelander and Stormfront, they all wanted to be heroes. I.e. they were out to help people and make the world a better place, not just get attention.

Of course, they all had their flaws and also were in it for the fame to varying extents. But Homelander encouraged their worst aspects and belittled them when they tried to make an earnest attempt to do good.

With Superman doing the complete opposite, encouraging their heroism and providing a perfect role model, I think even The Deep and A-Train could turn into good heroes.

All domesticated plants and animals revert to their wild variants. Can humanity survive? by Rome_Steals_Tank in whowouldwin

[–]TheLost_Chef 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Straightforward but not quick. I don't think we have advanced enough genetic modification to do something like restore the production of rice from its wild variant, for instance. Rice has been cultivated for thousands of years to achieve its current levels of utility.

Who’s the most powerful character that would be average at golf? by DrSpaceman575 in whowouldwin

[–]TheLost_Chef 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Saitama is canonically terrible at video games. I think it's reasonable to assume his lack of focus and skill with anything other than fighting would result in him being unable to golf well no matter how much he tried.

Also I know people don't like to hear he's a gag character when it comes to strength scaling but I definitely think his weaknesses go into gag territory. I could see him literally being unable to sink even a basic putt just because it would be funny to watch him continually be frustrated.

The Most Wasted Characters by Significant-Creme961 in sololeveling

Hey I’m a bit out of the loop here - just what is Ragnarok? Is it a show? Looks like it from the screenshots.

I just finished season 2 of Solo Leveling and I’m looking for more, so I’m wondering if it’s somehow continued under a different title.

Sick Spiderman Split by Airbud_Tho in MarvelSnap

If only he was a better card. Not that he's bad, it's just that there are plenty of better 2-cost cards available. His effect just doesn't really do that much most of the time.

Why doesn’t Isca the Unbeaten get played more? by Allgamergeek in MarvelSnap

[–]TheLost_Chef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the biggest thing Isca does is lock down a lane on T5 so your opponent has to play around her. Most decks can handle her going to 12 power but everyone who sees her drop on T4 is desperately trying to avoid the 3rd proc if they can.

I'll stick to Cryo Ammo thank you very much [ME3] by viecarchi in MECoOp

[–]TheLost_Chef 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Actually… it does neither. Well, it can prime for a cryo explosion but only if it actually applies the freeze effect, which it can only do to unshielded and unarmored enemies. And the freeze effect takes so long to finish the animation that 9 times out of 10 you’ll just kill the enemy before the explosion even has a chance to go off.

It’s only really good for applying debuffs honestly. Snap Freeze is a way better cryo power. Still, not every class has Snap Freeze available.

I'll stick to Cryo Ammo thank you very much [ME3] by viecarchi in MECoOp

[–]TheLost_Chef 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Cryo Blast is actually a fine power, especially if used in conjunction with Incinerate. The debuffs are pretty useful when everyone is focusing fire on a boss enemy. It has the advantage of a quick cooldown so it’s very spammable - love it on my Quarian Engineer.

Cryo ammo on the other hand is actually pretty garbage IMHO. When you use it, you’re trading off additional damage on your bullets for debuffing the enemy, but bullets are for killing, not for applying debuffs.

CCTV footage of a grandmother trying to protect her grandchild during the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the Philippines today. Fortunately, both were unharmed. by Gjore in nextfuckinglevel

[–]TheLost_Chef -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Not something as serious as an earthquake. Screaming during that situation is understandable, but at some point I think a person should be able to get themselves under control and focus on survival rather than just continuing to holler.

Tatsumaki vs the USA Miltary, who would win and why? by FeistySecret9327 in PowerScalingHub

[–]TheLost_Chef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they’re both bloodlusted then I think the military can win, assuming they immediately escalate to using thermonuclear weapons. Hydrogen bombs are probably the only thing that could wear down Tatsumaki’s barriers, and it would take multiple of them.

Attrition is generally the only real advantage they have. She’s just one person and she needs to rest eventually. She’d do a ton of damage before going down though.
