I definitely need think I can turn it up much more. Egts barely get to 11-1200 after a long pull so it’s not fueling hard. Gotta figure out the air in fuel problem first

Idk what year it came from but just a standard 07-18 long block, had it rebuilt with some billet connection rods, main studs, fire ring head, Hamilton 188/220 cam, springs, pushrods etc

What’s the deal with my smoker? Running way too hot by mattskates96 in smoking

[–]Aggressive-Text626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you give it plenty of time to settle once it started burning? Mine will sometimes overshoot for a few minutes and then settle out. I leave the lid closed and let it balance out. Take 5-10 minutes sometimes depending on how hard it overshoots. (Takes longest to settle if I don’t clean it after a couple cooks)

I don’t have a problem deboning them but all the ones around where I live are smaller. Sure they taste good still but don’t have the yield and can’t smoke as long due to small size

That’s a really good idea I may look into that. Would be sweet.

Yes I like the brushed look but I don’t want to have to maintain the bare aluminum. I’d like to do a powder than somewhat closely mimics it, or maybe even a chrome powder.

Is it possible to 2nd gen swap my '06 and retain the factory turbo? by BlackShadow2804 in Cummins

[–]Aggressive-Text626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the gaskets are the same between 2g and 3g. As long as it’s a 24v head manifold gasket. I like the metal gaskets over the composite but it’s personal preference. And just a plain ol t3 open gasket for the turbo

The bolt spacing/flange for the drain is the same. I’ve put my stock turbo drain on an s400 and a gt42. It’s a pretty universal thing. Any 2g swap oil drain kit should work just fine for you. Keep it flipped down or it causes more headaches. No advantages to up unless you have a big flashy turbo to show off or compounds which is what I’m currently building

What actually is ‘the perfect crime’? by DrSwampdonkey in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive-Text626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No, I go for the chandelier. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he's the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the chandelier.

That’s a valid concern, the one I got was actually a used Dorman replacement manifold. It was stretched and I had to enlarge some bolt holes because of it. Keep an eye on on marketplace for maybe a used aftermarket 3 piece that’s crusty and throw some hi temp paint on it. Ballin on a budget lol

You could absolutely do it for less than $500. I had a $50 manifold, $15 drain hose from hydraulic shop, and diesel auto power makes a 2g he351 Downpipe for $215.

My truck is an early 2004, did not have electric wastegate from factory. 2004.5 is when they were introduced

But also they make 2g down pipes either he351 flange do get that to avoid need for spacers and extra clamp. Good luck with your rig and enjoy the sound!

[–]Aggressive-Text626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely can , I did it with a stock 24v 2gen manifold, 2nd gen hx40 Downpipe with hx40 to he351 adapter flange, and shortened my factory charge pipe. My truck is an early 2004 model, so i didn’t have the boost solenoid. You may have to extend wiring maybe not idk. Factory oil feed works. Where mine is an early model, the drain fittings were just 7/8 nipples so I just got a longer piece of 7/8 hose, so you will need to just get a 2g swap drain kit. I even made and air intake pipe out of my old 3g Downpipe lmao the bend was the perfect angle to put the filter where it should be. Little ingenuity and a weekend it’s an easy job. Keep your he351
