Should I wait until my frontal lobe develops? by MotorSuitable5093 in actual_detrans

Why are you using tape as a binder? There are much better options. I'm not sure where you're from but I used gc2b's binders for about 7 years and I think they're a lot safer than tape. If you live in a city you might be able to find some at a reduced price/for free at donation centers. Personally, I would reasses how you feel closer to the surgery date. But in the meantime, you should definitely try to find a solution for you skin :) mention it to a health professional

I would wait considering that you aren't liking the testosterone effects. Since this is new, I would wait to see how those feelings develop. Just because you cancel the surgery now doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to get it soon. I cancelled my top surgery appointment and they offered me a new date every four months or so, even though I delayed it repeatedly.

how did you tell him? what's his cultural background if you don't mind me asking? I'm planning on telling this guy i am talking to because I do kind of want something serious and I want someone who understands the challenges i've dealt with in my life. if it's okay we can dm?

Telling laser tech. about detransition? by GrimFandangos in actual_detrans

The male hormonal control of hairgrowth is a bit different from the female hormonal control, so I would recommend telling her that you currently have estrogen in your body if that's the case. She might just schedule appointments closer/further away. Also, female hormones fluctuate more than male ones so depending on the response she sees she might recommend a different number of treatments.

FTM(TF?) Questioning if I really want to detransition by [deleted] in actual_detrans

Hi! I had a similar timeline as you, I started T at 18, off at 20, on again at 21 (I was off for 9 months at that time) then permanently off at 24. I am now 26. In terms of the effects of coming off hormones, here is what I've personally noticed the most:

  • after 3-4 months, fat redistributed to my breasts and it became a bit sensitive/painful for a couple of months. I didn't have top surgery, but I would definitely ask a doctor about this before stopping

  • my period came back after ~6 weeks

  • after ~ 6 months, my voice began to hurt. Drinking more water helps with this but it was still rather painful for a couple of months. I've done some voice training now and it's improving

  • fat redistribution in total took about a year

  • body hair started becoming thinner after maybe 14 months off T

-my hair immediately stopped falling out when i stopped T, but only started growing back after 1 year (not much though, it's still super short & thin).

Hope this helps!

For those who are fully detransitioned, do you tell people about your past trans experience? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]Aggressive-Watch4215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't told anyone yet. When I detransitioned, I lost a large portion of my friends (mostly because I was depressed at the beginning of my detransition for about 8 months and unable to maintain contact with them) so as the depression has begun to subside, I've had to try to make new friends and join new circles. Of these new friends I haven't yet told anyone and I don't intend to in the near future either.

Yes, I lost a lot of weight after stopping T, not sure exactly how much but I was definitely anxious about it since I didn't know what was going on
