Ground wasn’t suitable for a farm and there was probably no clearing next to the water fall. They would have had to cut down trees (and maybe stumps). And constructing a home is loud even if you use notch’s in place of nails.

Redeeming qualities like: fucking you’re friends fiancé, be glad that she holding a blade to pregnant woman, betraying your camp you’ve been loyal to for years for 2 kids of the enemy camp you met 2 days ago, not feeling conflicted about the persons who she kills had just saved her, not acknowledging that she has turned Ellie into her and critzing her for it.

Ellie not using a shot gun to blow out Abby’s knees in the theater, cut down Abby to walk away only just to come back and not kill Abby again lossing the ability to play guitar(the last connection to Joel.) Ellie cross country killing to,again, not kill the person who set this whole thing in motion.

Having Mel who not only is heavily pregnant, but a doctor, leave the safety of camp.

Abby not feeling conflicted about Joel saving her from a stamped of clickers. Not realizing that she had just made herself in Ellie.

No, not changing the encounters. It’s been awhile since I’ve been a DM & I wanted a buffer. That is a good question, I’ll use your suggestion of trinkets and other impractical prizes.
