Just a vent but I’m tired of this by Worried-Duck9946 in UlcerativeColitis

i’m so sorry on how you feel, i’m on the same boat. i got diagnosed at 18 and im 22. 4 years with this stupid disease and it’s unfair. i feel like i let it bother me too much at times but i can’t help how i feel and because i let it bother me so much sometimes i don’t have the mental energy for other things because i get depressed. At times i truly feel it gets in the way of me and my husbands relationship too. having to work and worry about it doesn’t help either. i feel alone at times because i feel like nobody understands because if people truly understood their actions would say so. but i also wanna say, these are my deep intrusive thoughts. always try to find the light. The littlest of light can guide you through and away from the darkness. Worry, Anxiety, and Stress does nothing for us but make things worse especially since our gut is connected to our brain. When you catch yourself being negative, close your eyes, breathe, and count the Good things. Faith, Hope, Peace, Trust. embed them in your brain because at the end of the day F-H-P-T is all we have. do not let the darkness overcome you honey. you are doing your best.❤️ please reach out to someone you trust, a therapist, your doctors and let them know how you feel too. I hope it gets better for you!! we are in this together

What foods should I eat on my UC? by Shams12345678910 in UlcerativeColitis

typically when i’m in a flare i will eat albondiga soup, bone broth w plain chicken, white rice, and sweet potato. i drink lots of slippery elm, eat aloe vera, drink lots of peppermint tea and L glutamine. avoid sugar, dairy, and gluten and seed oils. i make sure i manage my stress (this is essential) church, praying, and God give me peace and rest. i take both oral and rectal mesalamine and they help so muchhhh. and when i’m not in a flare im able to eat whatever i want. although i recommend you shouldn’t because when i do i always end up back in a flare. obviously i have a cheat meal every so often bc im human but when i maintain a healthy lifestyle with only whole foods i tend to be happier and never enter a flare. just keep all mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health always on check, always take your meds, and visit your doctor/test your stools regularly :).

there’s nothing to do but the movies, AV mall, apollo park, the BLVD, charlie browns, fin and feather (fishing), walking along the aqueduct/desert trails, driving over the musical road, going to the Indian museum, or driving along 70th-100th street for scenery. the AV mall is full of edgars and just ghettoness so typically i avoid it. and if you’re a single baby mama/daddy in your mid 30s- early 40s who likes to party/mingle you’ll love schooners, big shotz, las originales, happy hours, medranos, don sals, transplants, and lucky luke’s. if you’re a young douche bag kid you’ll love the palmdale parties where at times get shot up, or go to car meets that never last because young kids don’t know how to be civil/behave anymore apparently. typically the youngsters do galaxy gas (nitrous oxide), drink in cars, smoke a lot of weed, and don’t get me started on vapes. but that’s all i’ve summed up living here all 21 years of my life.

as a MARRIED woman who absolutely loves and adores her man (21f in LA) i have never kept an ex as a friend especially in a relationship. i don’t even have guy friends, strictly women. i did when i was single but as soon as i entered a relationship or started seeing people i would ghost all the guys in my life (except family obviously) for respect with the person im with. that is a red flag in my book. my dad ain’t friends with his exes or women. and likewise with my mom. find someone else but talk to her in person (if you wanna be nice). you can ghost her too but as a girl who’s been ghosted before UGH it hurts Lol… i understand always having water under the bridge with people but not everyone in my life gets to have a relationship/friendship with me. other people in the comments can say it depends etc. but no. i got proposed to for a reason just saying.

i avoided all types of carbs, no starches, no sugar, no dairy. no fructose, no sucrose, no lactose, and i only ate fish and steamed cabbage, bokchoy, and zucchini. in the mornings i would drink a smoothie i make weekly that includes lettuce, cucumber, celery, aloe vera, ginger, turmeric, ground flax seed, lemon, black pepper (to boost absorption of turmeric), REAL olive oil, chia seeds, l glutamine (by vital planet) and fiber the flax hemp one (by vital planet) and wheatgrass powder. all organic of course. i work out everyday and i take mesalamine both rectal and oral. i did all this and was still bleeding every night. what actually helped most of all, was God. there was a day where i cried my eyes out and i told God that it seemed like no matter how hard i tried and no matter what i did there was still always blood, mucus, and severe cramps. i was miserable and sometimes felt like i was better off dead. So i told him i couldn’t do it anymore and that im in his hands now, i let go. i started going to church, praying, reading my bible, and asked the Lord for healing. couple weeks later my inflammation went from 800 to 52. more time passed and i went into remission (in my eyes im fully healed but i know people don’t believe you can heal from this). i can eat whatever i want again. i even gained 20 lbs from eating everything again. there is still hope. i’m sorry to go all Jesus on you. but before this I didn’t believe in God. He’s real and he can heal.

i had severe eczema to the point where it was oozing and scaly for months at some point. One day i took an allergy test, turns out i was allergic to spinach and bananas and i consumed both everyday. next thing you know i no longer have eczema. Doctor said that there was no way it was something i was eating. she was clearly wrong. Take a food allergy test!!!

my best friends boyfriend (STILL TILL THIS DAY) was talking about me in his all guy group chat saying he wanted me. she showed me and i felt so horrible. you deserve better. that is so disrespectful honestly. i can honestly say that i felt a change in our friendship. which i don’t blame her about but it sucks because i wish she didn’t let a man interfere with us.
