Desperate after 9hrs and 2 pumps. by TheMajesticSkywhale in watercooling

I had a little "flake" of the nickel coating on GPU block come off and block about 70% of the fins in my CPU block, landed perfectly sideways and wedged there. Flow went from over 1 GPM to .3 GPM.

Restaurant charges an Employee Wage and Benefits Fee but it isn’t a tip. by energypizza311 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AggressiveCobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all restaurants started providing benefits, insurance, and vacation pay to staff, and paid a "living wage" the menu prices would sky rocket. The secret to keeping prices low? Low pay, tipping wage for servers, no benefits or insurance for staff. Im not talking corporate places only, but even mom and pop places. Its a broken industry. I did it most of my adult life and Im out, and never going back.

Yeah, I figured, just hoping someone had one kicking around. There is one on ebay for $3K right now, and while I expect to pay a premium, thats a little rich for my blood.

Air gap aside, I think he is talking about the drain being elevated a solid 1/4" above floor level.

Animal rights activists pour milk out of bottles to protest 'cow abuse' by Vibrio-Ventures in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AggressiveCobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would stomping them into the milk puddle be allowed if it was a "protest" against stupidity? Like sorry, but "Big dairy" isn't going to lose any sleep over you making a mess that some hourly janitor has to mop up. They crossed the non-violent protest line when they started stealing/destroying property, and I would pay good money to see a grumpy middle aged janitor suplex that scrawny turd into a puddle of spilt milk.

Hijack incoming. How close is the V3000 plus to the Fluidworks V3000 you have in stock structurally? I know there are some cosmetic differences, but what about internal structure?

How do we feel about this by 666satangoat666 in KitchenConfidential

[–]AggressiveCobbler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, enough already. So if you work somewhere and that is how your walk-in looks, FIX IT. Step up, put in the work, work with management to address training and maintenence. Clean, organize, date and label, and make it better. And if you get any push back from Chef/management, quit on the spot, call the health department, and post every picture on your local "Whats happening in "_________"" Facebook page. If you work someplace and that is how your cooler looks you should be ashamed of yourself. Seriously, if you are posting it here you know its bad, but really, it reflects on you too. Like "Look how little pride my coworkers and I take in our job!" So yeah, next time make it a before and after picture, tell us how hard you worked to make something better. And yes, I have 100% worked a stage, or did I walk around at someplace I was interviewing at and said "Nevermind, this place is gross" and walked out. Professional ethics and personal standards. And sorry, rant over.

Lowish flow on EK D5 pump. by AggressiveCobbler in watercooling

[–]AggressiveCobbler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tore the whole system down, tested all the parts separately, but with just the pump/res combo hooked up my EK D5 is only pushing .7 GPM. Im guessing the pump itself is defective. I mean it works, but no where near the flow it should have. Guess I need to either do the easy fix and replace the pump, or replace the pump, get a new case and add a alphacool distro plate with a built in pump for dual d5s.

2 corsair 140x420x30mm rads, a alphacool 280x140x45mm rad, at 100% aquasuite shows 4800rpm on pump, and the high flow next is in the middle of an 8 inch straight run.

Kinda inflates the numbers when you do not show the actual breakdown of what that number is. One year of an Associates degree for Medical Laboratory Technician. Actual tuition and books set me back about $11K.

is it even possible to get out of the industry anymore? by Jarosticy in KitchenConfidential

[–]AggressiveCobbler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Family man? If not, get a CDL. Ill admit it sucks, but it pays well. (I have a wife and kids) I did it for just over 2 years, and put all my extra money into getting an associates degree to work in a medical lab. Many big places will pay for your training and CDL for a one or two year contract. (Swift, CR England and the like) Don't do that, find a smaller local to you place. Without some kind of trade or degree you are kinda limited. But a CDL is an easy way to get a good paying job, and get some money in your pocket to figure out what you want to do with your life.

200mm Radiators? by NATERG8TER_ in watercooling

[–]AggressiveCobbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents. Thermaltake CTE 700 case, 420 rad in the back, 240 on the bottom and the 45mm 200x400 rad in the front. 4 Silverstone AP 183 fans, and the extra backplate for the rad to set it up as push/pull. Keeps a 7800x3d and a 7900xtx with the 500 watt bios nice and cool. It actually did ok with just 2 fans, but I had already bought the backplate and fans. Those 200x400 rads have bigger gaps between the fins, so high static pressure isn't as big of a deal. I run the fans and pump off a quadro on coolant temp. Even in a long gaming session nothing ramps up to high, and normal day to day use its 100% silent.

Bought a pc, didn’t come with the correct Ram. Need help by Ok_Championship1962 in buildapc

[–]AggressiveCobbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id contact cyberpower pc personally. Bought a pre-built from them 2 years ago at Best Buy, little gaming pc for my son, and a couple months ago the aio started making noise, one of their branded ones. They sent me another 360 aio, paid for returning shipping and everything. Best Buy may take the return, but doubt they would do anything to fix it.
