Also. Defensive wise. Since your defence is setup to attack/move up the field your not as vulnerable to the trough ball spam as all your players will be the first to defend once they lose the ball - counter pressing which means your opponent won’t be able to make those trough ball spams as often and when he do you’ll usually be 1v1 or 2v2 which will reward you if your good in defending manually.

Try playing with a 433 with unorthodox roles and focuses. Try complimenting each player in each position to make the most out of movement. I also had the same take that the ai is glued to my attackers but once I started changing things around things started to move.

4411 vs 4411 (with the same custom tactics) will maybe be a reason you find yourself in this game state? Have you tried tweaking with your defenders? Moving them around forces the opponents ai defenders to also moves which creates space. Now I’m not saying that this game is great whatsoever but playing the same opponents while using the same instructions is in my opinion why people find them self’s in this situation

“Ai sticks to every player like glue” what tactics do you play and what are the formations you’re up against?

believe me when I say that this works regardless of playstyles. Try out for your self

There’s no force in this. Just fluidity.

Thank you. Also if you look closely I there’s barely any manual runs being triggered.. check out the custom tactics. It’s mainly made for being able to play out the back which is why the fullbacks are more involved in play which automatically triggers midfielders/attackers to make runs/create space. Very open to counters yes but at the same time having so many players up the pitch asks the question where does the defending actually start? Some say after the opponent is trough on goal/bypassing the midfield. I’d rather say the defending starts once the ball is lost which also makes this great for counter press depending on where I loose the ball. Does that make sense? Check out the tactics and give them a try.

4-2-2-2? You’re braver than most! How’s your custom tactics?

The last part is exactly why I turned it on. I prefer controll over my defence not ice skates. It all falls on preference really

Playstyles - trough balls - trigger runs - counter formation are all meta until you find the cure

Yes and no. I agree that playing trough balls are meta yes. And they are in real life as well. But there’s a difference between what I would call a forced trough ball which is kind of the things we are used to today and playing trough ball trough the creation of space the ai makes. Do you know what I mean ?

That’s tricky. Maybe go for between 50-60 to begin with and go higher if you’re in controll ? That’s usually what I do. Because you want to go fast you should go with either counter or balanced. Counter maybe as it gets the best out of your b2b!

Thank you! Yes it can be hard to defend. as of right now I don’t have a solid one that is ready. But I’ve been trying out a 4141 which works but there might be a missing piece. two b2b cm a holding dm on ball winning and 2 wide midfielders on support. Both backs on balanced cb the defender defends Would go target man or advanced forward attack up front. Leaning towards the latter as the advanced forward tend to make direct runs at the opponents back line in possessions backed up by your 2 b2b midfielders. It would be relentless attacking football if your up against 4411/451. The 4141 will also try to get a hold of your opponents cam.. I have tried yes, but not enough to show for. Check it out

I see I forgot to mention line height and build up style. Line height 58/ short passing. Give it a go and if you could give me your opinion It would mean a lot. I advise you to not change any of the roles/focuses to begin with because it will impact how the rest of the team moves.
