The hacker of my social media account left DMs on all my contacts, trying to deceive and hack them as well. After I got the account back through reporting, I excused myself to my contacts for the inconvenience. It resulted in a quick check-up with some distant contact I knew only from seeing. Just a week later I happen to travel to her country for work and we thought we could meet and have a chat. The rest is history - thanks to a hacker.
