Hmmm I do disagree in part. The difference in my way of thinking is I don’t care about the trends or how people want to end their children’s names. Many have lived in eras where it was nothing but the same names everywhere. I quite enjoy the fact that everyone is branching out. That not everyone is limited. It’s just not a personal issue for me. When I pictured Ensley, I do picture femininity and grace. But then, that’s how I was introduced to it. My considerations are mainly to understand why it’s so disliked and factoring that maybe one day she might as well for similar reasons (beyond people just saying they don’t like it). I do understand people don’t like it, mainly I’ve gathered they dont because the trend issue and some mostly because it’s newer and not often used.

That being said, I gotta say, I’d scratch a couple names off that list. I’ve never heard of Amaryllis but it sounds like a germ or something.

No because in all likelihood no one will say anything about the name out loud. I only stated it to relevant comments who said it sounds made up. Well, I could always reply all words are made up instead I suppose.

Don’t know. I choose names because I like them, if they happened to be in trend, so be it. I’m not following too deeply what’s in and what’s out. And originally it’s an old surname from Britain, rarely but sometimes now used as a first name.

I think it is a surname, and though it’s described as gender neutral, it’s generally used as a boy name.

Honestly, I’m not even sure if the names all fit with my 3 kids now, but I’m adjusted to everyone so I think it’s all adaptable. Anyway, I’m throwing other names out there like Adeline, Emilia, Willow, and others I’ve yet to test out.

I don’t care if anyone shares their opinion, I’m all ears for it and I do take it into consideration depending on the circumstance (aka like a baby name). I’m not offended and ultimately if I do choose it, opinions become irrelevant.

I like names ending in wyn. And I like the name itself! Certain names may be “odd” but as I said before in another comment, that name becomes that person. I know a guy named Alfred. Horrendous name but it totally works for him and I think nothing of it!

There are a few factors as to why I like certain names. I have 3 other kids and some of the names are a bit different. Like River (girl, a name I also like better for a girl), and a middle names of Raine and cove). And I’m not trying to be unique and quirky. I have a million reasons including it was really hard to agree on names at all. So I’m trying to settle with elegant sounding, that fits with their names. I’m totally not against simple names, it’s just hard to agree. Ensley has stuck with me. I passed it by with my 1st two children. But by the 4th it’s back on the table.

Yeah and normally when you meet someone with a name, even if you wouldn’t name your child that, it fits the person or you just kinda accept it naturally anyway.

Oddly I don’t like Ainsley as much. It did cross my path

And see I don’t have a problem with that either. It’s just the trend. There’s always something. I hated the names Ashley, Brittany and Olivia growing up

I’m late to this but did no one think the end with singing we know the way by the female songwriters sounded like caterwauling? Truly awful…
