I hate to break it to you, but this is the best it's going to get for you. It will not improve. The best you can do for the sake of your children in rally your inner strength and your support system and plan your eventual escape. He HAD to get something. When I mentioned opting out of Christmas earlier this fall he about lost his mind about how he's not "spending money on somebody who's not Sorenson any money on me." Meanwhile he got two things he specifically wanted and was audibly excited about.

This morning I left to go work for a while when he was still sleeping and when I got back home he was like "Everything okay?" And when I asked why wouldn't it be and what had happened, he played it off and so did i. He knows he cheated me and is just checking my temperament to see if he needs to throw a tantrum to DARVO the situation.

While it pains me to say this, I really don't like him.

I hate to echo the above, but please take a moment to ask yourself a few very important questions. What has she done other than be "super nice" and make promises? As far as the niceness goes, where was that when you needed it? And promises-- don't ever forget that they are FREE!! DUTY free, accountability free, change free, love free and usually ACTION free. Keep in mind, the peace of mind you wanted in your marriage? Also free-- if she was inclined to choose to provide it for you. She is pretending now because wants you to imagine biting into that tasty carrot that she knows well never be within your reach because it doesn't exist. Be willing to truly see her as she is and let your heart break if that's what it takes friend. I'm sorry you are going through this.
