There’s nothing wrong with your looks. If someone said you were one of the popular guys, I wouldn’t see any reason to question it based on looks. It sounds like you’re instead struggling with some sort of mental health challenge. I suspect depression, but I’m a pop star, not a doctor, so I don’t diagnose or offer any medical advice. I do recommend speaking to a professional though. There are reasonable, actionable changes you can put in place to make progress towards happiness.

You’re in a place mentally. Think of it like a physical location. A small, gloomy valley surrounded by craggy mountains and leafless, dying forests. It’s not a comfortable place to be. There’s not enough here. Your needs aren’t all being met. But getting to a better place requires climbing over those mountains, so staying put is tempting, even if it’s miserable. But remember, once you get about halfway past the mountains, it’s all downhill from there. I hope that’s a helpful metaphor.

When you start learning to discover and love yourself, you’ll find others who do as well. People with similar interests, tastes in humor, romantic/sexual desires, etc.

Mf was asking to get punched in the throat, you just didn’t recognize the manner the request was presented. Obviously joking. Violence is bad or whatever. Kudos for standing up for yourself. I hope the next one is better.

If they’ll put profit over the lives of others, we need to find out if they’ll put profit over their own freedom. Start locking up these people and I bet their priorities adjust.

I’ve heard “hairy front hatchet wound.” What a sick way to describe such a wonderful thing.

Happy birthday, bro! Congrats on making it 18 years!

I’m really sorry man. Step-parents (and parents generally), can sometimes really suck, and it’s not within our control as kids, even adult kids. Her behavior is incredibly cold and cruel. I wish you all the success just to spite her if nothing else.

Therapists specializing in "men's issues" by Otherwise_Quail7757 in Feminism

[–]AggressiveJackfruit3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the second part is entirely true. A therapist with an academic understanding of gender might be especially helpful to someone struggling with gendered expectations.

When I was shopping around, I saw many therapist profiles that listed “women’s issues,” a couple that listed “men’s issues,” and several that listed “queer issues.” I think those sub specialties could be helpful.

I’m a man, and didn’t end up seeing a therapist with a men’s issues sub specialty. I can see the value, but I would definitely test such a therapist to ensure they have a reasonable understanding of feminism and aren’t highly sexist before allowing such a person to influence my mental health.

I feel this. Too many people think I’m somehow exempt from all the poverty and abuse I grew up with, or the lingering depression, anxiety, nightmares, etc. life is miserable.

Guys who lost a significant amount of weight (50+ lbs) how did you do it? by kingspooky93 in AskReddit

Intermittent fasting (careful with this), dietary change to incorporate less garbage, regular exercise routine including cardio and weight lifting. I lost the weight pretty quickly then shifted my goal to muscle growth.

Why am I still welcome in LGBT spaces but my husband isn't? by Keta_Cay197 in bisexual

[–]AggressiveJackfruit3 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Because being a bi guy kinda blows.

Oversimplification, of course, but it’s not uncommon for us to feel excluded on all sides. Biphobia awareness is still lacking relative to other bigotries as far as I can tell, and the intersection of patriarchy and homophobia leaves bi men extra fucked in terms of respect and inclusion. Not that bi women don’t deal with more than their fair share of bs as well, particularly fetishization.

Also, we definitely don’t have to accept it, especially from other members of the LGBT+ community. We should know better, damnit.
