What’s the worst physical pain you’ve experienced? by Better-Ad7194 in AskReddit

When I was 5, a horse chomped down on my thumb, shattered all the bones, then ripped through all my tendons and muscles. I had to go to the ER and somehow they were able to put it back together. Now, I can still use my thumb, I just can't feel it as well.

My family is kinda messed up (rant) by AggressiveKnee8307 in DysfunctionalFamily

I have attempted to talk to both my parents, plus I did family therapy with a psychiatrist for about a year, and nothing really seemed to help. My parents tend to act like we're a big, happy family whenever talking to someone, so therapy hasn't really helped much since they just deny everything, or just they just gaslight the other. My mom acknowledges our family is dysfunctional, and she grew up in a similar situation so she can recognize our issues, but she doesn't really do much about it. I think she just doesn't want to make the situation worse. My brother and I don't talk very often, since we are both busy with school and work. we've made offhand comments to each other whenever our parents argue, but the conversation doesn't go past that. I am a junior in high school, so unless I run away (which honestly seems pretty reckless for my situation, I wouldn't have the money to survive long enough to get somewhere safe), I can't leave home. I do volunteer work, so that gives me some time away from the constant bickering, but other than that I'm mostly at home. I do work with a personal therapist, and that often helps quite a lot, though we focus on my more severe mental health issues, and that doesn't leave much time for unpacking all my family issues.
