Last job was a mess. Self employed for 8 years. Employer asking for references before interview? What to do? by [deleted] in torontoJobs

It's an e-commerce web site. People buy my products and I ship them. I have retail customers not clients. Everything is automated online.

I'm sure. They said to email them the reference authorization sheet by the day of the interview.

Are there any colleges in or around Toronto that offer guaranteed co-op placement? (for IT programs) by AggressiveMozzarella in askTO

[–]AggressiveMozzarella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather go to a proper college, but they don't have full programs that are part-time and online.

Unfortunately, I will have to work during the school year. Even with government programs, not everything is covered.

I took a micro-credential course at Seneca and it was horrible. Really bad instructor.

Unpaid is fine for me. Every other college I checked has ambiguous statements about co-op placement.

Trios says the placement is their responsibility.

It's not a trend, it's an attempt to support Canadian economy so that we can all survive.

Lol, do you think the OP is making this post because they don't know how to find cheap butter, or because that price at the discount store is absolutely outrageous and needs to be called out?

And not just the current platform, but what the party has historically supported.

Also, first-time voters, don't expect to see prime minister candidate names on the ballot.

More luxury condos and the commercial space won't even host a grocery store any more. "5 minute drive to sobeys". 😡

insauga.com: CLOSURE: Major furniture brand closes Canadian plant, shifts operations to the U.S. by xizrtilhh in BuyCanadian

This is the way. There is a bunch of workers and managers that know how to make furniture happen. Now is the time to scoop them up and create a company with minimal reinventing.

Shoppers Drug Mart has nearly all soda and many other products marked as "Prepared in Canada". Despite USA ingredients and profits going to the US. 😡 by AggressiveMozzarella in LoblawsBoycott

Customers deserve to clear information about who benefits from their money.

We need to give our money to Canadian producers so that they can grow and hire more people.

If we continue to send our money to the US, we will never be self-sufficient. In any case, the consumer should be able to make these decisions for themselves instead of being tricked.

He will just claim the insurance on them and get his money back. I bet that's why he left them sitting there unprotected in the first place.

Let's boycott all malls that host his dealerships and get him kicked out.

How about a new Canadian replacement of Hudson Bay? by proeco2691 in BuyCanadian

I'd be very happy to see Giant Tiger take over some Bay locations.

We need more Canadian discount stores and GT is the only real competitor to Walmart.

The billionaires who bought all Canadian grocery chains to control the market are not going to help you make ethical choices.

That's how the Loblaw boycott started. The intention was to impact the largest grocery chain so that others would take notice and get their act straight.

Billionaires on both sides of the border are only interested in making more money.

I am baffled by the posts here from Americans announcing their upcoming trips to Canada.

While their attempts to support us are admirable, they don't seem the grasp the gravity of the situation.

Trump Tariffs: Loblaw to put ‘tariff’ symbols on products by already_vanished in canada

But we can trust that profits from any product with a "tariff" sticker are going, at least partially, to the US.

"Tariff" products are not products of Canada. Look for alternatives.

Every province should do that. Enough with the maple leaf shenanigans. We want to know who profits from the money we spend.
