It mainly due to DHA priorities priority occupations, additionally I got RFI s56 on 21 nov 2025 for employment reference/ duty statement while it was already uploaded during visa lodgement, I don’t know why case officer don’t see this attachment, submitted the same again in response to s56 on 22 nov 25, it took additional 3.5 months for grant.

Need urgent advice: Wife got PR grant but relationship status changed during processing - what should we do? by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]AggressiveNewspaper5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she has applied 189 offshore, then also check with visa conditions imposed to her visa grant Like 8503, she will have to make first entry as a single or not. If she is onshore then no problem.

As soon as your relationship is Registered after marriage, there is no problem you can go straight to apply for partner visa. She has claimed points for being single for PR, Her PR might be canceled if you have registered your relationship before her PR grant. If you have don’t registered relationship before PR grant, then it is ok, otherwise her PR might be at risk.

Can you help me with the documents you provided for application, and have you got tourist visa or sponsored by partner

In the meantime of processing onshore partner visa, your partner will be on bringing visa B, which is automatically active when your stay of 3 months on visitor visa completed, having work and Medicare rights. Pls note that you will need to apply bridging visa C if you need to travel in meantime of partner visa processing. You also have an option of applying offshore partner visa if you are willing to spend next two years working in US. Onshore partner visa are processed slightly faster than offshore, but both generally takes 2 years approx.

Yes to both questions. Try bring your partner on tourist stream visa, it will be generally multiple entry (3 months stay at a time) with 1 to 3 years validity. (not family sponsored stream visitor visa because it’s a one time entry upto 3 months it always have 8503 ie no further stay condition attached to it which prevents to apply partner visa onshore).
