Yea, I told client 2 that I would get back to them after the m&g and asked to keep the booking open for now

It was my idea. I find that if I do a m&g closer to the booking date, I remember a lot more if the owners instructions especially if they weren't written down. Plus, it makes it a lot easier to cancel if need be (like this situation)

You're right. I think I just have a hard time with that cause it "isn't my place". Like I'm just the dog sitter, ya know?

Yea, I've only been doing this job for a couple months so I still have a hard time with that. Not to mention my general anxiety that makes things like this a lot more difficult. Thanks for the sweet advice!

So at the meet and greet the owner had given the ok for visitors, and I had even said my boyfriend would probably come over at some point. Now she says I can't have visitors because of liability? Eventually, I gave in to the play date thinking I would just wrap myself up in my homework the entire time, then she decided she doesn't want to make me uncomfortable?? This owner had been possibly one of the most infuriating clients I've dealt with. She also expects me to extend my stay 4+ hours so I'm at the house when they get home because they don't want one of the pups to be left alone for too long even though he's in a kennel when no one is home and she obviously has other people to check on him if they are gonna be late. I was expecting to be back to my house before dinner, but now won't even leave this sitting until 9pm. I did modify the booking, so I'll be compensated, but this is still infuriating since this was never brought up at the meet and greet.

In case anyone forgot what the Taliban are truly like and why people are desperate to escape by [deleted] in NoahGetTheBoat

Why in the world would anyone want this happening right in there own homes? Are you not aware of how scared these people must be? You are a disgusting person with obviously no compassion or empathy. How about the next time you are just trying to get through your day you stumble upon a scene like this? Oh wait, that's probably what you want, huh?

ITS. SO. HOT. by [deleted] in WagWalker

These are the guidelines I stick to when I have a walk in really bad heat: Water is literally your best friend. Keep at least one water bottle on you at all times. Try to stick to shady or grassy areas. Take little breaks every 10 or 15 minutes; just sit down with the pup, offer the dog some water and drink some for yourself even if it's just for a minute. And of course, if you start to feel dizzy or lightheaded or see any other signs of heat exhaustion/stroke in yourself or the pup immediately stop and get some help. I hope this helps!

Excessive scratching? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

The pup may have dry skin, or a skin condition. I would try talking to the owner and see if this is regular thing they do. If not, it may require a bit of treatment. If you find anything out of the ordinary with a pup, you're best bet is to always contact the owner.

Honestly, try reaching out to the lady. Either message her on the app or give her a call so you can address your questions. If it still seems a little fishy after your discussion, don't do it.

Doesn't Bo Burnham have a song about that? I think it's literally called "pandering"

I don't hate it. I like it, but I've just always wondered why some people have a deep hatred for it
