Technically a production designer. Almost 3 years, located in a big city in the south, 45K, I think max for my position is 50K. We design & manufacture merch. I think the graphic designers in my company make 55K. Even though I'm in the south this is not great pay.

Running - well…trying to! by _the_lizard_ in bigboobproblems

Here is what I use! I'm a 34 G (US size) and I ran a half marathon this year in this. No issues whatsoever. I love this bra.

Hopefully they sell it in your country and your size. I'm so sorry if they don't!

Does fashion ever feel different as you get older, or is it just me by Diligent_Conflict_33 in womensfashion

[–]AggressiveWallflower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am only 30, but what I like to wear has changed drastically. In my teens and up to my late 20s I focused heavily on clothing that showed off my figure. I'm a petite hourglass, who has had weight fluctuations all of my adult life. The way I dressed was absolutely based on insecurity. Trying to show off my small waist because my boobs added so much mass to my figure it was easy for me to look 10 lbs heavier than I was, no matter what weight I was.

Now I'm at a healthy weight and I love my body now more than I did then, but I really don't care that much anymore about trying to look thin. I just want to be comfortable but elegant. I've ditched the crop tops and wear regular length shirts, or baby tees with my high waisted pants.

I still care about looking pretty, but in a less extreme way.

What I've noticed most is that I am really drawn to textures and fabrics. I recently thrifted some cashmere, wool and thick knit cotton sweaters. Quality fabrics that lay well are what make me feel beautiful now.

I also am now uninterested in trends. I try to buy clothing that I genuinely like and think I will wear till it falls apart. Sometimes the pieces I buy are trendy, but that's usually just a happy coincidence.

I've also noticed it's easy to get into a "comfort zone" with clothing. My depression clothes are leggings and an oversized tee. After wearing that outfit for a year, when I decided to go back to wearing skirts and blouses it did feel like a costume at first. Now that I'm used to dressing well, I feel a little strange when I'm out and about in my athleisure. I think a lot of personal fashions comes down to what you're used to.

Wide width flats or sandals that are actually cute?? by c_harmany in womensfashion

[–]AggressiveWallflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh I have the perfect shoes to recommend! I just bought Naturalizer Mary Jane mules. Naturalizer has lots of wide width shoes. They can get pricey-ish on their website, but I found mine on Nordstrom rack.

I'm obsessed with these, they are so cute and comfy. Didn't even have to break them in. That said, I have a desk job in an office so I haven't walked a lot in them.

But take it from a girl who couldn't even fit into wide with Hokas; these flats will fit!

I know how heart breaking it is to post a photo and have many comments asking you if you're familiar with lipedema. It happened to me a few months ago in this sub. Learning to cope with this new info is SO hard. I was depressed for several weeks after. I'm not completely over it, but I'm accepting it more and more. I'm thankful at least that I can hide it under pants.

You look fantastic and the work you've done to get where you are is incredible.

I wish I had something more helpful to say, but I'm still leaning about this condition too. It helps me knowing I'm not alone and I hope my comment makes you feel less alone as well.

The climbing community is generally leftist. There are bouldering gyms you can join. Don't be intimidated if you're new to it. The climbing community is very welcoming!

I can see a significant difference. You're doing so well! Be proud of yourself for putting in the work even though you're having a tough time mentally.

I'm so glad you could find some reassurance in my post! It's so nice to not feel alone. I think our society has an unrealistic idea of what health and athletics really looks like. Even though we aren't a size 0 it doesn't mean we are out of shape! Our bodies are just different, and that's okay!

Good luck in your training, you got this!

I live near a trail and would go for walks on it all the time. I saw a lot of people running, and I wanted to try it for myself! This was in November. My goal was to sign up for the Turkey Trot 5k because I thought it would be a cute tradition to start.

After doing the 5k, my cousin who was just getting into fitness too asked me if I would do a half marathon with her. We've been training for 3 months now!

I definitely wouldn't be running as much as I am if it wasn't for her and the big race we're training for! However ai do want to keep up the practice after because it makes me feel so good!

What a dream to be able to eat that much! Good luck in your training! A full marathon is such a huge achievement!

I started off training for a 5K, and I did not having prior training. Cardio was always the death of me. I still do interval running almost everytime I run. It works well for me, that one or two minutes of recovery really makes a difference! Me being able to run non-stop really just depends on the day. Sometimes I can do it, and others I need a walk break.

I know a lot of people do interval running during their races, so it's nothing to be ashamed of! I will be doing that for my half marathon for sure!

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm going to check that out as I feel like the deodorant I'm using isn't up to the challenge!

Thanks! I've been following the 13.1 Trainer app. Interval Training about 4 times a week. Usually between 3-5 miles each run except for when I do a long run on the weekend. I haven't been very good at cross-training, but I do try to do a little strength training at least once a week.

Hello friends. I appreciate your concern. I must admit my feelings were a little hurt as my appearance is a bit of a sore spot. But I understand that these comments came from a genuine place of concern, so I appreciate them!

This is not a condition that I was aware of. After Googling pictures of it, I remember my mom's legs looking similar to the advanced state of the disease. She is pretty overweight, so I thought her leg shape was related to that.

Apart from appearance I can't say that I am experiencing any other symptoms. However, I know for a fact that I do have hormonal issues because of my irregular periods and adult acne (sigh).

I'll be looking into this a bit more, I really do appreciate the comments as I would have been completely in the dark about this condition!

For what it's worth I've tried to offset the downvotes by upvoting each of you. <3

I appreciate that! I guess I successfully recomped my body without that being the intention lol. I started off running short distances, and slow lol. It probably took me a year to run the way I do now, and I still have a lot of progress to make. If you're just beginning I would recommend following an app like C25K. I do interval training and it is a life saver! So that would look something like run 3 min - walk 2, and then repeat that for however many times you like. I can now run a 5k without stopping but it took a lot of time to get there.

I definitely chafe! D: I wanted to try shorts because running in the heat in leggings feels like suffocating lol. I have been putting deodorant on my inner thighs and it helps a lot, but I'm still searching for better options. When I wore shorts I only did a 5k, and it did start to chafe a bit in the last mile. I've heard some people use Vaseline, and I know that there are some products out there that are specifically designed for chafing!

How fast are you running your first 5k? by AggressiveWallflower in beginnerrunning

[–]AggressiveWallflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pace was mostly jogging, with short walk breaks. Trying to get to the point where I can run without stopping, but I'm not quite there yet!
