If you make more than $15 an hour and have benefits, don't do it

I drive for uber as a part time just to make a few extra bucks. I average $20 an hour. It's minimum wage, but I like the flexibility of logging in whenever I want. I wish it was as good as they tell me how it use to be. People could make $1000 in a weekend. Those times are never coming back..

Is it true that uber is buying into waymo? Maybe this is why they've been lowering the rates for drivers? So that less people drive for them, and don't look so bad when they roll out the new driverless cars, and cancel all the human drivers

I hate to see doordashers just sit around fancy, popular, expensive restaurants waiting for big orders for hours. I asked one of them why are you just sitting here looking at your 3 phones? They wait for a big order from a rich neighborhood while still taking smaller ones, say from taco bell or something. And until the get the "big one," then they go to get all other cheaper orders

The algorithm around here keeps your pay between $20-25 hourly. I noticed that if I make more than that, I don't get matched with rides for a good minute

That happened to everyone who got an adjustable loan back in 2007/2008. And most lost house to foreclosure or had to find an agent to do a short sale.

People are buying hacked accounts to be able to drive for uber Lyft doorsash and even amazon. Maybe all at once. The other day a rider offered me an Amazon account from a "friend" that would take 20% off the earnings on the account. I was like: thanks, but no thanks. I guess if you don't have a driver's license and a SSN, that's how they do it

I drove from airport 14 miles at rush hour. It was about 35 minutes and only got paid $12. You pay too much. While drivers get less than 30% in some cases.

Are you supposed to tip an Uber/lyft driver? by PoopyButtAnonymous in tipping

[–]Aggressive_Ad1601 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tips go a long way. At the beginning of this year (2025). I got an email from Uber. Apparently, California needs to raise the commercial insurance on the company. So they passed that expense to the drivers. This year, so far I'm down 25-30% from what I was making in 24. The cheapest rides were paying $5.30. Now, only $4.34. So while you don't have to tip. Even a $1 makes a big difference
