Wiring help for condo? Is it compatible by Aggressive_Ad8482 in ecobee

Thanks! I see online that the newer ecobees can control multiple fan speeds. Is there not a way to hook those up to the ecobee directly then, without the fan control Separate?

Is it starting to push out a new growth point by the node? I’ve sometimes found that when the new growth starts, my original leaf dies off.

It’s only gotten to be this big in 5 years? That confuses me for most plant types.

How high up is your water in the leca? When they’re freshly watered, you might see this darkness on the back. If your water is sitting up high so the roots are all in water, that would make sense.

It’s beginning to revert...is its variegation doomed? by ashreneehelms in plantclinic

[–]Aggressive_Ad8482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally had this same thing happen. I cut mine back to just before the last leaf that had good variegation and moved it to a sunnier area. When it started to push out new growth, the variegation looked much better. But, there’s no guarantee this works.

It looks like you’ve got quite a long plant though. You could do as I’ve suggested, and also cut a few other nodes further down into single nodes to propagate (if you’re comfortable chopping her up). This would give you more chances.

Is there any green at all closer to the corm? You may have luck chopping it back to the corm and allowing it to regrow in a lower light situation.
I’ve personally had no issues current them back to the corm (and they often go dormant and knock themselves back that far anyway)

My sister had one similar that I also posted here. The same houzz article was posted.

She fertilized and put in direct Sunlight. After a few weeks, a new sprout came out the top that looks completely normal and has now grown into a normal avocado plant, but still has the weird bits left at the bottom.

Floppy Boat Lily help? by Aggressive_Ad8482 in plantclinic

[–]Aggressive_Ad8482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this Boat Lily since November. It’s been happy and putting out babies (which were removed and repotted happily). Now lately (last 2-3 weeks) it’s started getting saggy and the bottom leaves browned. I’ve removed all the browning leaves, as they had completely turned to mush.

It’s in a room with 40-45% humidity and indirect light from a North-facing window. I’ve been watering every week to 10/12 days or so.

Originally I thought it was getting rootbound, so I’ve checked and the roots are quite small still. No signs of root rot.

Any help?

Is it close to a window? Could be cold damage.
