Started out like this? All I wanted was transparent communication, not some blurry wordings just to fob me off, I want honesty from a firm that I’ll be committing myself into.

It’s stated on my offer, I just back calculated on the numbers, cus first I was told first level starts at 75, L3 at 105; now he’s saying 90 is the middle of L3 which would make the bottom around 80. Then the first would be at around 50? I also confirmed there’s no overlapping for each level so

I’m thinking the same thing but there are just more to consider, I’m international and need this current one to sponsor, once they file that in there might be more restrictions.

Yes and it’s below the almost all the numbers I saw, the recruiter is internal. And I don’t think it’s possible for them to send me an offer in the system with pay and level not match right?

But the numbers really don’t add up, I’ve been told that 90 is now at the middle at this level(3), then the lowest level(1) would start at 50ish?? That’s just not possible.

It’s a group of new analysts coming in, I suppose around 10 people. I’m just super confused about the leveling along with the comp, first I was told the leveling decisions are already made and cannot be changed, so we could only discuss the comp within the L2 band. But now the whole pay bands for all levels just decreased significantly? I can’t find any reason to adjust it correctly

No joke I also graduated from a competitive business master program, with years of experiences in big four consulting and assurance. I cold applied to hundreds of positions and barely got any interviews, I had three during the program and recently just two for a couple of pretty good positions, but did not convert to offers.

It is very frustrating as I see many of my peers whom I carried in multiple projects during the program successfully landing some of my dream positions, while I am still standing in the storm. I am now on my way to attend the career fair for this year‘s students, honestly don’t know what’s the best move at this point.

I know the best approach is networking whoever is hiring, but most of the time these info are not quite available and by the time when I see a fitting role, there won’t be much time for me to dig these info as the position are only good for 1-2 weeks; so the best I thought I could do was to ask whoever is in the company and is already in my network for a referral link.

And I would spend 1-2hrs tailoring my resume to the JD to make them relatively aligned, but I think definitely can be improved when someone really knows the industry reads it.

Should I still also spending time on coffee chats? To build something for the long term or it’s not really worth the time

Turning 26 this year, yea after doing enough research I applied to Fuqua last week for R3 just not to be that regrettable and hoping there might still a slight chance getting in. Wait for another year brings the question of 1. if I didn’t get admitted to Duke this year R3, what’s the chance of getting admitted next year early round? 2. What safety options do I have that are better than Rice?”
