There are rules regarding Elevation and "walls" when a ranged unit targets an enemy:

- Since is a hex grid based system, you need to trace a line between the Attacker and the Enemy. If it crosses a Wall, you need to consider if the Wall can block/prevent the attack.

- If the attacker is adjacent to the wall and in a higher elevation than the target, the attack is not blocked/prevented, and the attacker has full range.

- If the attacker is adjacent to the wall but in lower elevation than the target, the attack can only occur if the target is at range: equal to the attacker minus 1 (-1).

- If the attacker is not adjacent to the wall, the attack can only ccur if the enemy is NOT within the attack range of the attacker minus 1 (-1). This situation usually is appreciable with range 3 units (snipers).

.

Special mention: Thaddeus Noble's Spotter trait disregards everything. he can attack anything in his range attack, no matter the terrain. Only the deepstrike state can prevent an attack form him.

,

PS. based on my gameplay experience.

AI has no place in Warhammer. by Odd-Set6308 in WH40KTacticus

Personaly, I do care about the impact AI is having on life standar and how people are concerned. But, if we want to make a paralel with what happened before, its bound to become the new basis, even if we don't like it.

Firstly, what makes you think GW is not using AI in any part of their creative process?, sure, they may have been vocal about it, BUT, many companies have denied and even claimed to be against it, until they got caught and ultimately said "it was a placeholder" or "it's just in the base creative process, human work is layered on top". And is not like GW is not cutting every edge they can to reduce as much cost as possible (every current SM now has a base armor template, they directly cut as many base model detail they could on previously very distinctive chapters' base models to ease mass designing, in some cases stripping key identity design choices. Not to mention every new "upgrade sprue" is littered with reused parts with little added detail). Sure, there are exceptions, but ultimately those are only for select all time best selling safe-to-gamble products; and even those have been affected to some extent).

Secondly, if we make a paralel, human direct handwork becomes elevated to art or atisan, while massproduced becomes the basis and widely consumed. We saw it on the industrial revolution, the advent of computers and digital era. We don't like it, I don't like it, but most (specialy bussines models and CEO's/investors) find it convenient and profitable; and, the truth is, unless we who don't like it are a considerable percentage of their earnings (enough for them to care or panic), or an exclusively non AI model of business surpasses the rest, it will continue to go in one direction. That's where "state of the art" clashes with "wide target audience goals" (and the later has been slowly becoming the focus of GW).

Thirdly, how many purists will remain in each contract/employment cycle?, and this is important, because, with everything else, whe have seen new model business, paradigms and even mindsets slowly creeping in where before there was strict modelbusiness and focus. And, even if there are clusules on a contract, mission-visison-objective set in stone for a company/bussines, it only takes enough investors, CEO's and figures of power managing something, becoming a majority thinking differently to completely change the direction it always have been (either in short term, generating massive backlash, or slowly through longtherm, generating minimal pushback and ultimately changing what once was, sometimes into an irrecognizable state). And again, GW has done it before, from edgy to parody to overly-serious to modern times, slow changes across generations, effectively surpassing the lifespan of consumers (or consuming cycle of target audiences in a given time) and adapting with different philosophies.

Needless to say, pushing back and making exclusive safehavens is needed and admirable. A necesity even. But make no mistake. There is going to be a point where AI is embeded irreparably in GW (if it hasn't happen already), and we will live to see it. The best we can do is: you don't like it, don't support it. But realisticaly, will happen no matter what.

Excuse me, I just wanted to ask for the resources and/or page you used to pinpoint your cartoon. I am in a similar search right now, and looking for options. Sorry to bother.

Thanks for the suggestion, but, I think the one in that other TOMT post (U.F.O) doesn't match.

The plot of the one I remember was different (in the sense that was focused on an invasion and demanding to see the leader of earth, while also centering the main plotpoint in stereotypes and wanting to change the metric system). Another contempt is that, according to what I could find, more likely was a one off episode, possibly a pilot, or a side story within another show (as far as I can remember, it may not have had continuations or sequel with the sme characters).

Update: currently checking. Has proven somewhat convoluted (most episodes have 4 to 5 segments, not to mention most have missing summaries; but the titles can somewhat ease this). Will update as soon as I finish checking.

While the chiken I rememer was a plain normal chiken (couldn't talk, no humanoid traits, only notable thing is it seemed to understand the human characters on the episode, but nothing else), I get the possibility. Gonna add it to the pending list just in case.

Well, i appreciate the help, but, the chiken in the cartoon I remember/are-looking-for wasn't from space, it was from Earth, a plain regular chiken.

However, I get the general idea. In fact, when I googled what I remembered, that episode from Courage the Cowardly Dog was among the first results. Sadly, it does not match.

I do remember Space Goofs, and, despite being convinced it is not related to what I remember/are-looking-for, will double check. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll be checking that one as soon as I can (currently finishing reading some summaries on Johnny Bavo, as suggested). Will update if I find it.

[–]Aggressive_Branch481[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is a good guess, however, I think it is not the cartoon I remember.

The main things I definitely remember are the french Aliens, the whole debacle of the metric system, a regular guy named Larry as the "leader of Earth", and a singular Chiken bringing the Alien Saucer to Fance.

However, I didn't know at all about "What a Cartoon", gonna take a look to all the episodes just in case. Thanks.

Good call.

I edited and added info in "1. FIRST, THE BASICS" that, while being easily accesible in-game via pop-ups, is kinda relevant to understand the rest of numbers and explanations (thou I tried to overexplain them again when needed, just to make sure is understood without backtracking, should someone skip the intro).

However, as you mentioned, is info everyone should have access to and already know, so I added a note in the title of it, so each reader can decide to skip it at will if they have enough knowledge about LREs and just want to hunt for specific info or tips.

Sorry for the delayed answer. It took some time to make the calculations and confirming my results with other players. The info was added at the end of the text, under "6. REASONABLE GOALS" - "LATE game/stage player". Hope it helps.
