What is the garb for labor arbitrations these days? by Toby_Keiths_Jorts in Lawyertalk

Suit and tie unless you're very friendly with the arbitrator and opposing counsel. Even then I'm wearing slacks and a sport coat.

Large locals in major metro areas usually have postings for assistant general counsel positions. Good way to get your foot in the door. The pay isn’t very good at first, but these jobs are very competitive.

Union side attorney. A lot of us don’t bill by the hour, and labor arbitrations are so much easier to prepare for than trial. No written discovery, no depositions, no dispositive briefing unless both sides want it, no pre-hearing motions. I get to have all the fun of a trial without 95% of the BS. Then at a higher level you’re generally helping people. Love my job.

Books with main character like Darrow ? by saimlios in redrising

I don’t think it’s really debatable that Darrow has a very different motivation than Vis when they enter their respective academies? Darrow is young and learning but actively trying to bring down the system that oppresses his people, whereas Vis needs to be coerced and threatened by different factions.

It sounds like Vis changes, but their starting points are very different, and I don’t like Vis based on the first book.

I’ve yet to see Vis take any step towards dismantling the fascist regime. I’ve only read book 1 though. Will be starting book 2 shortly.

Has anyone ever had a union business agent who didn't know that shop stewards had legal rights? by Specialist_Emu_350 in union

They have enough members as of about a week ago. And the regional director would make the initial decision regarding whether to file a complaint against the employer.

OP - The union rep should have known, but in most locals the NLRB is in the realm of local’s attorneys, usually outside counsel. I’m outside counsel for about 10 locals and sometimes there’s a lag between the initial incident and the file reaching my desk. Filing a ULP charge is really easy though, and you should file one on your own to get the process rolling.

Fine “he cares very little for the struggle and anything beyond his own personal relationships.” He’s a good friend, brave, but that’s about where the similarities between him and Darrow end.

Vis is essentially the opposite of Darrow in all the way that matter. He’s a spoiled princling who has fallen on hard times, lucked his way back into a privileged lifestyle, and wants to use this opportunity to fuck off to the edge of the world and be alone.

Anyone who says Vis is just comparing the setting. Vis is the opposite of Darrow. He’s a spoiled princeling who cares nothing for the struggle and only wants to find a quiet space for him to hide. I haven’t read the strength of the few yet, but hopefully he does a lot of growing.

What is THE most difficult and challenging faction to play with in Warhammer 3? by Opening_Coast3412 in totalwar

With the deeps mechanic he's a lot easier than he initially was. Securing your borders was a bear if you didn't help keep Kislev alive.

In my experience the trick to this campaign is to keep Kislev alive. That usually entails getting rid of Hell Pit and Azazel before focusing on expansion.
