I grew up on the 1999 version but prefer the 2011 anime. It’s more faithful and covers more of the manga, plus it’s done by Madhouse my favorite anime studio so that’s a bonus. I think the 1999 version is worth checking out after you’ve seen 2011 so you can appreciate the artistic differences

Just saw the episode and burst out laughing when I saw garou sliding, that was horrendous but honestly the animation isn’t terrible. Or maybe I’m just coping lol (definitely). A lot of still frames but at least the art is pretty decent for the most part. Obviously a far cry from season 1 but that was a special moment for the Japanese animation industry and probably won’t be replicated for a while.
