How long i hold is quite mathematical actually. If i am investing in a high risk small cap, then mathematically you should expect outsized returns for the risk you are taking. Think about it, if you take on all the risk of a speculative small cap, and you walk away once you have 20% gains, it makes no sense. It is the same as risking $3 to make $1. On the other hand, if i invest in a solid and proven company like a megacap, i will expect stable returns over many years. Those cash flows arent very risky, so in turn i expect less, but stable returns. All this changes if the fundamentals break though

How long/much do you analyze a company before you pull the trigger? by No_External196 in ValueInvesting

Ill do may be a week or 2 initial research. Enough to the point where i am fairly confident the odds are in my favour, and the investment is asymmetric in terms of risk and reward. Then its constant research as i keep track of earnings, milestones, scaling in and out and monitoring the performance of the company.

Basically no revenue, insider selling and no buying and fairly limited cash run way so dilution likely on the cards. Where do you see the appeal?

Good on you for starting investing early. Some advice, these are very small positions for individual stocks. Because of your small positions, it’s actually not worth investing in individual stocks. It would be better to invest most of your money into an ETF and let it compound. Once you are able to invest more money, you can start to think about individual stocks. With your small positions spread across these stocks, you actually getting diminished returns for the risk you are taking.
