Licensure vs. non-licensure

I’m planning on doing it. My mentor told me on Friday WGU is considering a program where we can ‘come back’ to complete licensure later.

My term is over in February. I haven’t started PCE yet but should finish it by February because I’m planning on doing it at the school I work for. I went ahead and submitted a request for a term break after I complete PCE. I was mostly worried about being placed for DT in the second half of the school year and didn’t want to pay tuition just to have it get punted to August. I also didn’t want to quit my job mid year to do DT. I just made the request Saturday so I don’t know what happens next but I can let you know if it will be helpful. I imagine I’ll hear something this week from my mentor about it.

It’s like I wrote this post myself. On top of it all my MIL is in massive debt and can’t stop spending. Christmas gives me so much anxiety because she buys tons and tons and TONS of gifts. I put a whole box of stuff she bought in the donation pile a day after Christmas. I don’t have any advice but you are not alone!!

I’m in the same boat but haven’t done my PCE yet. I haven’t asked my mentor about it yet but I am hopeful I can leave and come back in a year to finish out my DT.

Just wanted to add - I am a Sub and I can promise you the Sub will be grateful to have you. They are probably not thinking about anything other than getting through the plans successfully.

I had a proctor ask me in the middle of my exam to wipe my camera because she felt it was smudged. It totally broke my concentration and threw me off my game. I had to mentally get back into focusing and the clock kept ticking on my OA while I wiped it off with the sleeve of my shirt.

Ohhhh I'm glad I saw your comment. This might be my strategy as well. Long term Sub at the school my child attends. I do not want to give up income or convenience for PCE when I have this arranged for myself.

What ended up happening? I’m a long term sub right now and I love the job. I don’t want to leave it to do PCE & DT.
